How do I reconnect media in FCP-X?

i imported a reference movie into fcpX and the audio was missing. well, no problem... lets fix it in quicktime player and 10 seconds later it was all good. well in quicktime that is but not in fcpX. i got a huge red screen but no information what is wrong. since i knew it had to do with the missing audio i simply thought "lets reconnect the media"... sorry folks, but doesn't seam to be included into fcpX.

i checked the manual and no information can be found on how to reconnect media within fcpX.

so my question is "how do i reconnect media in final cut pro x?"

Ha! That's so inauthentic, I just read pages of unanswered issues about linking problems. You commented on those same pages! Wow...

I can't re-link to anything other than exactly the same file, and for some reason FCX tells me that the same files are somehow incompatible.

I can't even re-link to files that are the same frame size and name, what is called a "forced relink." Are you saying that's easy as can be? Gee, turns out it's not. What, what a liar! It's like they just post on here so that consumers will read it and be fooled into thinking it's good software.

what you are talking about is replacing footage ... wich is not working as you knwo it from other software but its possible

but i really don't like your way of communicating ... why you call me liar?

you didn't mention what you exactly mean and i thought you ment relinking to the same media on another location - wich is as easy as it could be.

@ Mephisto...

Brendan,

Since your main gig is as a web designer and you have only produced a few videos, I imagine that you will chill a bit once you get some real video production experience. You do not yet realize how valuable these forums are to professional editors. The people here are trying to help you. Doesn't matter if you are using FCP or any other video editing program... none are perfect, they all have issues... you shouldn't pi$$ off the people that you will need down the line.

If you really are so unhappy with FCPX, jump ship so we aren't forced to follow your silly and inflamatory comments.

If you want to actually learn about the application (the good and the bad) instead of simply complaining and attacking those who are trying help you, then Welcome. Otherwise, just go away.

My two cents.

I know I'm being rude, sorry. Just getting sick of the massive deluge of misleading info on here from the Applebots. You're clearly not one of them so I apologize to you.

I often find people very rude and flippant towards users who have problems. I get sick of these little "Nope, you're wrong." one-line responses that are completely unhelpful, and keep people with actual answers from replying because it looks answered. Tired of fighting uphill battles with people defending Apple rather than addresing problems.

Complaining about bad software and inaccurate comments you made. Sorry if I hurt your tender feelings.

I've posted my problems politely in numerous places and encountered only rudeness and lack of patience from people like you, so I just get sick of it. Unless you fight to get your comments heard, people just bury it in "Apple fixed it", which is totally untrue in this case.
