Suddenly yahoo mail not working on mail app

I have suddenly started to have a similar issue all of a sudden tonight... Mac OS Leopard 10.5.8. I have 2 email accounts set up on mac which have been working fine since installing over 2 years ago... all of a sudden my yahoo is offline and cannot get it back.... Tried switching SSL off and makes no difference... whats all this about? can't figure it out - I can access email via webmail but not via mac...

Same here. Yahoo mail offline and not receiving. I can get via the web fine. I only noticed this happening from today after the 10.7.1 upgrade.

Just to update this, I can send mail out fine (using yahoo smtp server), but not receive. I have tried redoing the settings and restarting mail, to no avail.

Had the same problem, went to Mail>Prefrences>Accounts and in Incoming Mail Server for my yahoo account removed the "plus." from "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com", closed the prefrences and the account went online instantly. you might wanna try it.

Me too. Deleted the account. Had Mail recreate account from scratch. Now working but uses IMAP now not POP.

Anyone else finding this?

What is difference between IMAP and POP?

So I saved all my emails, and deleted the account. It has set it up as imap, and now works fine. Thanks for the suggestion. Macbook with Lion.

I also had to delete the accoutn and set up again which it did as an imap account - seems to me to be a LION problem?

Still - no incoming yahoo mail coming through mac mail program.. Having done some looking into this - I did update from classic yahoo to the new yahoo mail software... Apparently Yahoo is wanting to charge people for a further upgrade to plus account to access email from another program... I find this very hard to believe and especially as i have heard nothing fromYahoo.. having been using yahoo for many years i feel that the least they would do is let their users know about any change. I rely on mail for my business and this is very fustrating - i can however still access email via yahoos web mail and on my iphone... wierd!?.

I have tried deleting account and adding a new one but does not seem to want to do it as an imap, however it does come back online as a pop account but only loads emails upto the 4th July and still will not receive new mail... Any help appreciated... How do i add accout as imap.... as have tried putting in imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk etc but cannot verify server...

Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com, not .co.uk.

well it knd of worked by setting up as imap (Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com) with (smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk:username as out going server). Seems to be synced with server but still mac mail is not receiving new mail ... about to give up with yahoo!!!

Recently I updated my mac software to 10.6.8 and now my yahoo mail will not download into my mail program. I spoke with apple and they don't know of this issue.

Has anyone resolved this? Changing settings does not help in Accounts.

If this is a yahoo problem, how do we get hold of them.

Same problem. It was working yesterday but now it's not. Yahoo works on Ipad but not MacBook.
