HI , If you are using paralles on a Mac Book Pro, you can try :
ctrl + alt + ? = \
This is working for me

Peut etre un peu tard mais j ai rencontre le meme sousci du backslash ;
solution sur un macbook pro + snow leopard : pressez les touches cmd+alt+8

German keyboard layout (QWERTZ). slash lokated on key Shift 7

Shift + Alt + / = \
Shift + Alt + : works, but you need to use the Alt on the right of the space bar for some stupid reason...

Sorry, using French (France) keyboard on MacBook Pro.
What happens when you use the alt on the left of the space bar? They should be the same result on a Mac.
