Tiger to Snow Leopard MacBook Pro won't install
I got the box set of Snow Leopard to update my MacBook Pro from Tiger. I put in the installation disk, and my computer spits it right back out. HELP!
Mac OS X (10.4.11)

MBP #1 meets all the requirements (minus the working DVD drive for installation, which is why I was using the other MBP #2.)
I have:
2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
2 GB memory
~82 GB of available space
working internet, etc.
Target Disk Mode installs rarely work unless your Macs are exactly of the same vintage and model. Get your optical drive fixed, or your PRAM battery replaced. If the PRAM battery starts dying after the machine is 4 or more years old, the optical drive often goes with it. Sometimes just replacing the PRAM battery solves the optical drive issues. The PRAM battery is NOT the removable battery used for power when off the wall plug, it is a separate battery inside the confines of the computer, which may require a technician to replace.
Not that it solves your problem, but here's just one of hundreds of cases where such Installs did work...

Are you perhaps talking about installing from the 2nd Mac, instead of just using the 2nd Mac as a Firewire Optical drive???
