Log in loop after update to 10.6.8
Hi, After updating to 10.6.8 on my iMac 27" 2.93 I'm in a login loop. Booting gets as far as the dock appearing then I get a blue screen and am back on the log in screen. Any ideas on how to resolve this? TIA

Just to add another login-loop to the list. Here it's an iMac 20" / 2,66 GHz running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I am not owning/running Parallels.
Today I couldn't get back into the system from the screen saver. No login window appeared after moving the mouse or hitting some keys. So I force quit the iMac and restarted it. When I tried to login into my user account I experienced the login window loop as described here earlier.
I did repair the rights and checked the hard drive for errors. I tried to rename the Preferences to Preferences_old, I tried to remove loginwindow.plist and com.apple.loginitems.plist. I tried to use another Keychains folder from my time machine backup. But everything failed. So I am preparing to set up a new user account.
Same problem, tried all these ideas not luck, MacBook 2.16, Version 10.6.8, main account causes logon loop, backup account works fine.
Spotlight index has been running for 5 days and no actual rebuild. This has to be something simple as it only effects the admin account I used to do the update and not other admin account.
