The share menu is greyed out
Just made my first edit inside final cut x, but the share menu is greyed out. Apple+E is not working and not of the options are showing. I'm i doing something wrong, or is it my installation?

Try to go to the Project Library (Cmd+0), select your project and try it again.
No go, same thing... Project is open, all functions seem to work but no option to click inside the share menu. I even have compressor installed and can't select it...
Did you try clicking within the timeline window first?
The sharing items will be greyed out unless timeline section of the interface is selected.
Hope this helps.

You have an event selected not a project. see Properties tab
Click on the bottom left button that switches from timeline to project.
That should make it...
Piero
How about selecting it from the Project screen (sorry not on my Mac)
Also that is not working for some reason.. When i have the overview of projects, i click share and all greyed out. Nobody else is facing this problem or am i just doing something really stupid (or should i learn imovie LOL)
Maybe a restart helps?
Or copy the project...
did you copy final cut pro x to your application folder without correct installation process?
I am having the same problem as Ayalon.
Could improper installation be the issue?
I decided to place the FCPX installations inside it's own folder in the Applications folder and everything seemed to work pretty well - up until this.
Is this how you installed Ayalon? I have FCP7 and didn't follow the suggested instructions I found later AFTER I installed FCPX 'my way'.
Sure would like to figure this out so I can export my first project...
Exactly, this is the problem. I copied the program over to it's own folder to split between final cut pro x and the final cut pro 7. Everything worked fine, beside the share function. Now i copied it back to the main program folder and everything seems to work fine again.... Thanks all for your help!
You should mark it as the answer here. Glad you got it working.
