How to change iCloud email address?

This worked for me,

.me is no longer supported although existing accounts are grandfathered in.

But you can't update a .me account.

I experienced the same techno rage as you, over exactly the same problem. I posted above that I followed the advice of Matt Curtis on page 1 and it worked for me. Good luck.

iCloud is hardly a "horrific investment".

I don't get to what this above is solution?

Does it delete the other apple account from downloading anything on othe devices that use it??

like does it only delete the account on that device??

Did you go to Settings/iTunes-store and sign out? That was the last step I needed to so. Also, I was on the phone with Apple for a long time, and they were very helpful.
