DSLR to iPad direct live feed INPUT?
I want to use an iPad2 as a live view external monitor.
Can I hardwire an iPad2 to a Canon 7D and get a LIVE feed?
I know iPad does output but can it input?
Thanks!

Has anyone looked at the Eye-Fi Pro X2 8 GB Class 6 SDHC Wireless Flash Memory Card EYE-FI-8PC?
ohdeee, Although that's a nice product, and I may have a use for it elsewhere, I don't see how this will help with LiveView. It will simply let you view the images, you already shot, wirelessly. We're looking for a Live option.
Okay I just got an i pad air and thought by now this all would be straightened out. I use the 5d m2 and want to wire it directly to the iPad for live view. Is there still no way to do this wired?
nope
apple blocks allot o f CPU features to allow a back door for espionage according to reporters on NSA+ others who are willing to pay for info on you, if you want to have the abilities of a samsung tablet (which apple actually uses the parts and ideas from) you need to jail break it and that has bee vigorously blocked by apple to control how much freedom you have.
PC tablets have JB abilities (basically portable computers) and seem to be the future, the white samsungs dont look all that bad, i watched this guy shoot with his 5dmkii RAW into an app made for the PC tablet (samsung) and it not only worked flawlessly but looked beautiful, i have 2 ipads and 3 iphones in our family and since JB has been banned we have been thinking about moving on rather then been left in the dust.
So dont believe the hype about apple cause they need to get their act together and stop the huge exagerations about their products which are behind on chinese developers, a obvious example was the finger ID on the iphone, this was around for 12 years in Asia, you would think Apple would give some credit but they take customers for fools instead and barge on the lies about it, go check our someone's samsung in action youself,
Sadly i use apple for audio video production and know my apps ins and outs and none fo the samsungs will work well with our imacs and mac pros, again Apples marketing strategy, read my message while you can it will be erased by apple for sure.
cam ranger does not work as a "LIVE" view finder

I can confirm that this card works as the OP was hoping. It doesn't always connect exactly like I'd prefer, but it is a great option. There are many more reviews you can read HERE
That is completely inaccurate. Cam Ranger does work in Live View just fine.
The OP was looking for a live view capability, Eye-Fi, while a useful product, offers no live view capabilities, just transfer of images.
"Cam Ranger does work in Live View just fine"
I am looking at getting CamRanger to use my iPad for shooting video, focus pulling, etc. with a Canon 5D Miii. Someone farther up this thread was claiming a delay on the video: true/false?? Basically any dedicated external viewfinder I could get costs more than an iPad, so I am very interested in this -- any and all info would be helpful!
