Blu-ray

How come these "super Drives" are not blu-ray compatable? sense they are not is there an external blu-ray drive that will read and write blu-ray that will work with my MacBook Pro?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Apple does not make an Apple-branded BluRay player, so I buy this OWC Slim 6X Portable USB 2.0 Blu-ray Burner on Macsales. It will plug and play, just fine.

Apple's DVD Player software does not work with BluRay, so I install third party app Macgo Blu-ray Player.

All works fine for me folks.

Apple does NOT support, has NOT supported and shows NO sign of supporting Blu-Ray in the forseeable future.

I use Apples Final Cut Pro X to create and burn Blu-rays. All the software comes from Apple exclusively. I have installed 2 Blu-ray burners in my Mac Pro. I also use Blu-ray burners externally on other Macs. Moreover, Apples included Disk Utilities program does a great job of burning Blu-rays.

Get any blu-ray drive and install Mac Blu-ray Player program. but this player need internet connection.
