Is there an iPhone antivirus App?

I hear warnings of virus and malware threats for smartphones, let alone hacking (all the media coverage here in the UK at the moment about mobile phone hacking!) I see that security software companies are offering software for Android and Windows Mobile phones, but can find nothing for the iPhone 4.

Searching on these forums people say the iPhone is safe so long as its not "Jailbroken" ...... what does that mean?

Is there an anti malware App for the iPhone? With all the protection that is needed for PC's venturing onto the Internet these days I do wonder with a phone that can do the same.

iPhone 4, Windows 7

Well I can tell u this I know it has been cloned because my phone search I had done to see the coronidanates of my I phone if showed two users so then tell me how that is possible if it can not be cloned. There was one night I was searching and I found my phone data usage being used on worldpress.com while I was talking to the AT&T IT guy and was watching it just being used by all kinds of people showing a profile of me with a picture in it that was t real but seemed to resemble me. And I was watching the data useage on my phone where it shows data usage being used just keep on going up. But it can't be cloned. My phone stays running hot alot and crashes alot an I'm sure it's because to many things trying to be done at once and has never happened to me before this all started. I've seen the program running in the back ground and besides you just said yourself to steal iOS back ups well if you know that is possi me then why wouldn't it b to steal one that's in use so think a out what you just said. So I guess you telling me that someone must have jailbroken my phone while it has been in my pocket or night stand since it never leaves my site. So these security checks you use it for sounds like it is a security issue and the fact that you say that it is something you would not really call dangerous is to me something that is dangerous and can be used to hack into a iPhone. If some can build this iOS for the iPhone don't you believe there are smarter people out there that can tear it down as to getting by your security measures you have set in place if it was not able to be done then there why have these security measures. Also as far as my son making international phone calls not happening. I take it you work for Apple and will try to do whatever it takes to make them look like there is nothing anyone has to worry about but then again that's your job. Matter of fact as soon as I can find this other site I had see the other day and read what they had to say then I will show u that link an then tell me it can't be done. Also let me put it to you like this if the government can get into your iPhone then don't u believe if even the governments security can be hacked then what makes you believe that the iPhone can't. I thought the same thing as you did and everyone else that has an iPhone which is why we all got them is because Apple said they couldn't be but they are. You ever heard the saying whatever you can do I can do better well in this case someone else was better.

Sigh. I never said or implied that anyone jailbroke your phone. Stealing a back up file from your computer would not give someone access to your phone, just your data.

HTML is one of the building blocks of the entire web, not a tool for writing malware.

And, no, I don't work for Apple. This is an almost completely volunteer user-to-user technical support website.

There may well be something wrong with your phone. Getting very hot often means there is a problem with the battery. But, until you calm down and start looking at the actual facts rather than what seem to be verging on paranoid suppositions, it's going to be hard to figure out what the problem is.

And please, please, please, consider what a wonderful invention the paragraph is, how much easier it makes reading and understanding the written word.

Best of luck.

You should do an internet search for run-on sentences, proper sentence structure including making use of paragraphs.

If you think your iPhone has been hacked remotely giving someone complete access to the use of your iPhone remotely without your iPhone being purposely jailbroken/hacked which is pure bunk, then restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup.

Technical idiot here, today I clicked on a link inside a test message that was a reply to an ad I placed on Craigslist. The link went to a black and gray screen and the message came from a phone number that was actually a land line. I am concerned that something malicious may have been transferred to my phone. Can that be done? If so, how do I find out if that actually happened?

Thank you

I am the kernelsmith referenced in the link https://github.com/kernelsmith/metasploit-framework/tree/master/test. This has nothing to do with the iphone or malware for that matter. This is a directory of software tests. I don't know what Catahoula is smoking, but my link is totally unrelated. I am a professional in the information security field and would never post malware to github. I only found this thread while checking my github traffic statistics.

Please retract or edit your post Catahoula.
