Post the error messsage, either type it in or capture that part of the screen: Shift-Command-4, then drag the cross-hairs to box-in the dialog.

Adobe has free support for installing Acrobat here:

It might be search or post only. Mind you, I have gotten pretty quick response when I have posted questions on their site.

applefruitie:

I tried Google Chrome and it has the same problem as Apple's Preview and PDFpen pro:

The following error message occurs:

"Please wait...

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF

viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by

visiting http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/support/products/

acrreader.html."

Of course, the error message never goes away.

Mr Csound1:

I was able to install Adobe Reader XI. (I had to quit Acrobat Pro 9).

I still don't see the old Adobe printer driver that used to be available.

The new Adobe Reader seems to have its own print window and does not call Apple's print window either.

When adding text to the fields of a fillable form, you can't save it. One can only print out a hard copy.

I thought we had overcome this issue with Reader but I was wrong.

Another reason to load CUPS-PDF printer driver so you can save your inputs of the fillable form.

If you use Apple PDF creator (and it been that way for ages) any links you create for example in Microsoft Word. loses there links when Create using the apple print menu. doesn't make any difference whether created using Word's Auto correct where the auto correct automatically creates the Link when typed. Or you use Word URL Wizard in the Format menu.

And one thing that Apple needs to fix while we are adding pet peeves is Curing the Issue of screwing up of PDF forms in Preview. Just the act of opening up a PDF form in Preview is a Death Nel for that Form It can not even be repaired if reopened in Acrobat. Been that way for years.
