Black iPad Screen, just the backlight on...

My iPad's Screen is Black, with just the backlight on when i press the sleep/wake button, still working, backing up and syncing but i can't see anything...i had the iPad 1, but recently bought the iPad2, so i gave my old iPad to my stepmom, she asked me to put some apps in it,'cause she didn't know how to do it, i forgot about it for about 2 days, and today when i remembered to do it, the iPad screen was black!!! i can see a faint backlight so i know it's on, i tried to unlock it but i had a password in it and i can just hear the keyboard sounds, i tried restoring it, hard-resetting it, but nothing works, can anybody help me??

I could not figure out how to solve my camera problem until I read your post. Really surprised to see that a slight tap on the left upper corner was the solution. Thanks for your help.

So I was imensely skeptical of the "bump the corner" fix but I have to confirm: it worked for me!

i have the same problem too...if you still want to see !!!! use a torch light.....it will work

Yep, bump did it for me. I did lightly at first and nothing. Took my rubber mallet and held the bottom and tapped the top left corner and all of a sudden....YAY!

I dropped it gently on the carpet from about a foot hight on the top left corner and the screen came back on.

This worked! It actually came on and off a few times, but it finally stayed on! Nice work!
