My ipad is stuck updating apps.

My iPad is stuck during updating. Saw I had 10 apps that had updates available. Pushed "update all", that was three days ago. Still "waiting"..... How can I just stop or delete them? Please help!

I posted back on May 29th that I'd done everything (and I had). I'd reset the iPad multiple times, I'd logged out of the store and back in, I'd plugged in the sync cord before opening the store, I'd tried updating one app at a time, tried updating on the PC instead of the device, tried turning off wireless and downloading via 3G, looked for stalled downloads (and iTunes said there were no downloads pending), etc. Nothing' worked. I finally gave in and restored from the most recent back-up, which I really didn't want to do because, as AE says, the back-up was full of "waiting" apps. Plus it's just a hassle to restore. I did it, however, and then updated the dozen or so "waiting" apps one at a time. So far, it's worked and as long as I do the updates one at a time instead of updating all of them at once, things are OK.

Have to say, however, that I still don't understand why the issue remains. There are messages posted as long ago as 2010 with the same problem, so why hasn't Apple addressed it?

Had same stuck app updates issue. Your suggestion about downloads pending under the purple iTunes application on the iPad worked. (orphaned downloads.) I had 4 podcasts from 3 days ago still trying to download, the first one hadonly downloaded 3kb and was not progressing even though not paused. Anyway, I deleted those podcast downloads, went back to Home Screen on iPad, and the hung updating apps were no longer hung; the blue progress bars moving.

Thanks! Very glad to find a fix that didn't require going to desktop iTunes, or restoring iPad. (though others may have different issues going on...)

I would suggest everyone try your suggestion first.

I have been having this issue for days and couldn't figure it out. Finally after reading through here I decided to sync my computer with my laptop on itunes and discovered a movie I had thought I download had only downloaded a little bit. So I proceeded to finish installing that and once it was totally downloaded all the other apps I had been trying to get or update finished with no problem!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I had this problem and tried the reset all settings and then backing up from iTunes but no dice. Whatever I downloaded and updated was just hung on 'waiting'. I tried deleting the stuff and reinstalling but it still didn't work (reinstalls also got hung on 'waiting'). Based on some suggestions here I went into iTunes on my iPad and then went into 'Downloads' and sure enough there was a webcast that I was downloading that was hung and it held everything else up. I paused it, and everything that was previously hung started downloading normally. Anyway, it turned out to be an easy solution, but the long and short of it was like Velvet625 I had a download in the iTunes store that was stuck, and I didn't see it right away because I had to go into iTunes to see it there.

I had four updating apps from the App Store totally stuck. After reading some of the posts here, some of which were hard to follow, I opened iTunes, clicked the download button, which just had a link to view terms and conditions, which did not take me anywhere...saw nothing much going on, but then I went to main screen and saw that the apps had started downloading normally and all was normal at last. A mystery...Apple should get this figured out.

My ipad is stuck updating apps.
