Check your Software Update folks!
Just updated, and now it won't start. Database error. Holding down option + command keys won't help. Arrrgh.
Do you get an error message when you attempt to start while holding option and command? What happens?
Would you be able to translate what that is saying? Sorry, my German is limited to counting and I can't count very high. 🙂
"When opening the database for the Library "Users ... " there is an error."
Hope that helps.
🙂
Haha, not at all 😐. Thanks though, Kirby.
running very slow for me now, previous version was only just acceptable, now it's almost unusable
my mac is 4 years old though
I had no problems with update 3.1.3
It works without problems and is fast on my MBP

In which way do you open.
Open Application or open from database.
Maybe you must repair the mediathek ?
Jochen
I tried simply opening the application. I have to head off to work, so will start trying when I get back home. Hopefully by then, it will be figured out!
Sorry for the long lay off. I finally got it to happen again.
Here's the preview window in Aperture looking just like I wanted it:
And here is the image that got exported with the first standard export option as a JPEG:
Look how bad it looks around the feet. I can't figure out why parts of it look ok, then other parts get jacked up (such as around the ankles and along that horizontal line).
Running 10.6.8 and all other updates are applied.
Thanks.
Because JPEG is a lossy format?
Apparently my screen shots got recompressed because it's not accurately showing the issue in the second screen shot. 😟 My export settings are JPEG with a quality of 10, so that *shouldn't* be an issue because there isn't much loss.
I got a response from Apple and sent them the information they needed. They are going to try to reproduce the issue. In the mean time, I guess I'll have to play with settings along with color profiles and see if I can figure out what's causing the issue.
JPEG-10, although much better than 1-9, is still a huge amount of compression, just look at the file size versus TIFF.
JPEG artifacts show up worse in certain places, like blue sky, diagonal lines and maybe your backdrop lighting. Test the same image exported as a low-number JPEG, a JPEG-12 and as a TIFF and see if the artifacts progressively improve.
Good luck!
