Thanks for the input. I've discovered something else in the meantime, and I feel silly about it. I'm on my work computer, and I re-examined my screen shots and images along with my Flickr posts that were looking the same way as my regular exports on my iMac at home. I do not see the issue on my work computer nor does an associate of mine on his computer.

I'm now left to believe my new iMac is displaying my images in a goofy way, and I'll need to determine what is causing that.

Ugh. I know better than that. I should have looked at another machine to begin with.

Thanks for ya'lls help, and sorry to take up time with an issue that apparently isn't related.

I did some more fiddling last night trying to re-edit my shots so it would look right. I checked my images on a MacBook Pro I have, and I can see the garbage on that screen, too. Here's what I'm seeing (I took images with my iPod then boosted the contrast some so you can see what I am seeing on screen):

So, I tried to do a couple things, just as add an addition dodge adjustment to further boost the exposure in those areas to hid it and us the repair tool to clean it up. Here's what I'm seeing now:

First edit without the dodge adjust enabled:

Same edit with the dodge adjustment enabled...full strength when brushed on and the adjustment panel at 1.0:

Check out the weird ring that is formed that doesn't line up with the edge of the gradient edge of the previous edit. No amount of cloning or repairing gets rid of it...it just moves the edge around.
