For New Playlist,
Go to Playlist and Select Add Playlist,
It will pop up songs list and you have to find current song and add in to that playlist.
you can add more songs too.
For Old Playlist,
Go to playlist and select the playlist.
Select edit on top of the playlist.
Add symbol will pop up on top left side.
Hit that and it will pop up songs list and you have to find current song and add in to that playlist.
If you have tons of songs, how to find current song?
Ans: Just scroll songs so fast you will see 'Voice symbol' next to current playing song. than add it.
I too find this missing feature puzzling -- with a few hundred CD's and thousands of songs not being able to add currently playing songs to playlists makes it impractical to produce my own playlists (which I'd like to do when listening to my collection in shuffle mode). FWIW I've submitted a suggestion for a Music App enhancement to support this w/Apple support.
Thanks. That answered my question perfectly.
Amazing. This thread is years old, dating back to iOS 4, and this functionality is still lacking. Nor can the ever clever Siri fulfill such a request to date. Oh well, iOS 9 comes out in the fall. Fingers crossed this gets added then. 😕
