wouldn't it be a nice thing if we didn't have to stumble around begging for help when we go into a new application, I feel I need a white cane and a dog right now with FCPX.....Whatever happened to manuals?
So can I import files from my Sony EX1-R and the Sony PMW F3 directly or do they first have to run through Sony's XDCam Transfer?....Thanks!
Native EX and XDCam support may be up to Sony and not Apple. Also EX files can exhibit a small amount of strobing when using the lower quality playback mode in FCPX, on my system it disappears when you switch to High Quality.
That fixed it! All i did was turn on High Quality in playback preferences. So strange. None of the footage shot on a Canon HDSLR had that issue under the lower quality settings. I wonder why?

Well Tom, I hope you will be able to get to the "next book". Perhaps after the next update from Apple that will with some luck address these importing problems and many other expressed concerns on the programme, but FCPX really needs something out there to help us all over the bumps.
