"Email address is already verified for another Apple ID" Problem

So today I wanted to organize my 2 Apple ID's.

My first apple ID is anferne@gmail.com and my second apple ID is anferne@me.com

Last year I decided to change the primary email address for my Apple ID: anferne@gmail.com to anferne@me.com and vice versa.

So now the Apple ID is anferne@gmail.com

Primary email address is anferne@me.com

The second Apple ID is anferne@me.com

Primary email address is anferne@gmail.com

So today my problem is I can't switch them back. I can't have the same email address as my Apple ID...

But it keeps saying the "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID" 😟

Help please?

I got this fixed today using iTunes Store Support Express Lane (https://expresslane.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.do?PRKEYS=PF4). Had an online chat session with a rep who got it fixed for me. Took about 10 to 15 minutes. It needed their intervention as it's not something that one can currently do oneself (deleting a previously verified email from an Apple ID does not disassociate it from that Apple ID which is the root of all the frustration).

How? Come on man! I'm having the same problem... I think....

I started a few years ago with 1@domain.com, used it to buy music for forever.

Then bought MobileMe and had 2@me.com

I used the first for iTunes, and the second for everything else. I actually don't even know the password to the first anymore. But now all of the sudden it's a huge deal. It says the first email isn't verified, and when I try to do the mobileme one, which is want I want to do, it says the email address isn't verified. So I tried to verify it, but it says it's already verified by another email address (which I know it's not)

But I'm stuck and can't use anything at all.

Please, Apple, focus all your attention on a time machine and go get Jobs. Apparently he's the only one who knew what the crap's going on.

RIP Steve, we miss you so freaking much.

That does not work for me.

Since niether of my apple ID accounts have my xxxxx@mac.com email assciated with them, changing the emails does not do anything to free it up.

I've done the "find Your AppleID" search and there are no AppleIDs assciated with my xxxxx@mac.com email, yet it is "verified" somewhere...

For now I'm stuck with an old gmail account, which is not ideal, but not the end of the world.

I'm having a similar problem. my account xxx@msn.com never recived any Find My Friends, or iCloud notifications. So I changed the primary to xxx@gmail.com (deleted xxx@msn.com) and things work. But now I can't add the xxx@msn.com as a secondary email because it says "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID." Which is odd, because when I search for my Apple ID through the search page.

https://iforgot.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSiForgot.woa/wa/findYourAppleID?ap p_type=ext&app_id=93&returnURL=https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAp pleId.woa&language=US-EN

And enter all my data First Name, Last Name, Current email (xxx@msn.com) I get "No Apple ID found", which makes some sense because I changed it to xxx@gmail.com, but since it's already verified for another account, I'm a bit annoyed, because my xxx@msn.com account has not been hacked.

argh!!

I hope this doesn't screw up all the aps and music I have.

I am experiencing the same issue.

I had an old Apple ID that I used for iTunes: mac@mywebsite.org. I had my gmail email name.surname@gmail.com associated to this Apple ID as a secondary email.

After iCloud, I created a new Apple ID name.surname@me.com and tried to associate my gmail name.surname@gmail.com to this new iCloud Apple ID as a secondary email as well. After getting "Unable to verify email because it is already in use" message, I deleted name.surname@gmail.com from the old Apple ID (mac@mywebsite.org). Apparently it worked, but when I tried to add it to the new Apple ID (name.surname@me.com), it continued saying "Unable to verify email because it is already in use".
The strange thing is that, each time I add again my gmail name.surname@gmail.com to the old Apple ID after deleting it, it always says the email is verified, whereas each time I try to use a new different email and add it to one of the two Apple IDs, the process starts from the beginning and asks for email verification each time I delete it.

It seems the verification system has a bug and doesn't let users delete secondary email from older Apple IDs. Hope this problem will be fixed soon, because right now I can't use my gmail email within iCloud.
