After updating to 3.1.3, using command-O for the lift/stamp tool does not work. Anyone else with this problem?

After updating to 3.1.3, I can no longer use command-O to use the lift/stamp tool. It will lift adjustments from the selected image, but will not stamp. Anyone else notice this issue?

Thanks

Okay, here is something that I have found THAT WILL WORK until apple gets this fixed.

1st, as a quick note - for apple, when you go to Commands > Customize and search lift here is what you will read Lift metadata & adjustments says shift+command+c (copy)

and stamp is shift+command+v (paste). ?

NOW . . . . I found THIS TO WORK . . . . . . .

1. Make adjustments to your image

2. Click on "O" as before

3. Place your curser on the image you just adjusted and "left click"as before

(you will still here the "bloop" - don't worry it copied the adjustments.

3. Next (here's the odd thing) . . . .press Shift+O (Now your stamp arrow will be pointed down as before and you can paste the adjustments to your images that you want the past the adjustment) You can even use the shift key as before to do multiples.

Same problem here. I've already provided feedback to Apple on it. It is a huge pain. The bonk each time is annoying enough, but when you have to lift and stamp on a large number of images the time really adds up. Come on Apple, lets get 3.1.4 out asap. While you are at it, lets get the green cast fixed. And the ability to put my thumbnails on my secondary display is something I have been asking for since v1.

I gave this work around a try and it does work. Thank you for figuring this out. While this works, it does not allow you to lift adjustments, select an adjacent image, shift click a group of images, then stamp. Being able to do this was a huge part of how I would work though large volumes of images from weddings/events.

Bug report submitted.

Afaict, it works as it always worked, as long as one uses it in Browser View. Do you use it in Viewer View or Split View?

This is not the case for me. I use duel displays, browser on one and full scree on the other. I've always been able to lift/stamp using the "o" key and it does not work as it once did in ANY mode.

Got it. Works for me with duel displays. Does NOT work in full-screen mode, whether with dual displays or not.

Full screen mode has always been 3% flakey for me -- I stopped using it a while ago. Perhaps Lion will keep those hyenas away.

I should clarify, I using duel displays, one is the browser and 2nd display shows the image at full display size. This isn't truly full screen, it just the way that the 2nd display works with Aperture.

@Kirby am I understanding you correctly that you aren't experiencing this issue at all? Or are you saying that the "work around" works for you?

Thanks in advance

I didn't proof read this reply before clicking send...

What I meant to say was that this work around works perfectly. The bummer is the fact that we need to use this work around in the first place. It isn't intuitive at all as it was before. I checked the Aperture manual and it also indicates, the lift/stamp should work using "o" key.

Thank you for your help. I did reboot and the command editor does show "Select Lift Tool" when I select "O".

It's interesting because when I press "O" I do get the Lift Tool. I click on the image I wish to lift adjustments from and it does the lift and then makes that bloop sound like when you try to do something the program will not let you do. The arrow (for lift) stays in the up position (instead of changing to the down position for the stamp tool) and will not let me stamp the adjustments.

I have used Aperture for almost 3 years. I'm a one man shop and shoot about 50 events (weddings, mitzvahs, etc) along with portrait work a year and use Lift/Stamp quite a bit when editing. Very strange behaviour!

Everything else works great!

Exactly same issue here for me.

Jul 22, 2011 5:33 AM in response to ChristopherDavid

I do not experience the issue when the tool is activated in Browser View. Specifically: with Browser View active, I can press "o", the Lift arrow appears (no bloop sound), I click an Image, the Adjustments and Metadata are lifted and the mouse cursor changes to a down arrow, I move the mouse cursor to any other image and click and the lifted metadata and adjustments are stamped.

I experience the problem, exactly as others, when in either full-screen mode, or any view mode other than Browser (that is, Viewer or Split View).

So very strange. This isn't my experience in Browser View or other views. The work around is successful though I still receive the bloop sound. Once again, just to confirm that I'm not crazy, I checked out the Aperture Manual and it is clear that something is going funky - 3.1.3. has jumbled things up a bit. My sincere hope is that fix is in the pike for this issue.

Thank you @Kirby for your attention and replies.

After updating to 3.1.3, using command-O for the lift/stamp tool does not work. Anyone else with this problem?
