Yahoo Calendar Not Syncing

I have a yahoo calendar configured in both my iPhone and iPad. I have three calendars within the Yahoo account. They show up in the iPhone/iPad calendar and I can add new events on the iphone in any of the Yahoo calendars. However, events that I create in iCal on a computer don't sync to the iPhone/iPad and events I create on the iPhone/iPad don't sync to iCal.

When I go to my Yahoo calendar online, the events from iCal are on the online Yahoo calendar but the iPhone/iPad events are not.

Any ideas?

Running the latest version of IOS.

I was hit with this glitch just after upgrading to iOS 5 (love/hate upgrades!), but found a solution to get the iPhone calendar to sync with my Yahoo calendar.

Assuming you already have your yahoo account set up, do the following:

1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Yahoo Calendars, Reminders

2. Add a new calendar account (leave your existing Yahoo account setup alone - don't delete it!)

3. Add server caldav.calendar.yahoo.com

4. Add your login info

5. Go to Advanced Settings and type this Account URL:

https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/yourusername@yahoo.com/

6. Load your iPhone calendar and the calendar should populate.

This did it for me. Good luck.

I just received this mail from YAHOO, and am happy to share it with all of you:

Hello Leon,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Calendar.

I understand events are not getting updated on your iPhone. I apologize

for this inconvenience; Let me help you with this.

If you recently upgraded the operating system on your iDevice(iPhone,

iPad, iPod Touch) such as with the recent release of iOS 5 software for

Apple iDevices, that could be the cause of the missing information.

You can delete the Yahoo! account from your Apple iDevice and recreate

it, forcing a new sync, which should bring all your information over

from Yahoo! Calendar.

To remove your Yahoo! Calendar CalDAV account from your iDevice:

1. Go to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch "Settings" application

2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

3. Tap "Yahoo! - Calendars, Reminders"

4. Tap "Delete Account", Confirm deletion by tapping "Delete Account"

once again.

To sync your iDevice with Yahoo! Calendar:

1. Go to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch "Settings" application

2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"

3. Tap "Add Account"

4. Tap "Other" and then tap "Add CalDAV Account"

5. For the "Server," you can simply type "yahoo"

6. Now, type in the Yahoo! user name and password you use to sign in to

your calendar

7. Once you click "Save," the iPhone or iPod Touch will verify your user

name and password

8. Next time you open the Calendar app on your iDevice, you will be able

to view your Yahoo! Calendar events and layers.

Please keep in mind that any events you enter in the iDevice Calendar

app will not sync to Yahoo! Calendar unless you create/edit the event to

use the Yahoo! Calendar and not another calendar that resides on your

iDevice. Previous to iOS 5, all events would sync to Yahoo! Calendar no

matter which calendar layer they were entered into on the iDevice

Calendar app.

If you are running iOS 4 software or newer, you will be able to sync

your Yahoo! Calendar to your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch without plugging

it into your computer. You can check your current version by going to

"Settings" > "General" > "About" > "Version" on your Apple iDevice.

If you still get the same issue , please reply to this email.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Calendar.

Regards,

Ben

I had the same issue after ios5 update on my iphone 4, after checking the fourms with no joy I checked my setting for my yahoo account on my iphone and found that my password had 2 extra digits, haven't a clue how, I re-entered my password clicked save and then just put a test calender item on my iphone and then checked my yahoo calender on my mac & pc and all was working again - just got to sort the syncing problem with itunes, just hangs 'waiting for items to copy' many threads re this issue but no firm answers as yet!
