Yahoo Calendar Not Syncing

I've sent a help ticket into yahoo and hope to hear soon. Every time I enter the server name, it gets changed to prefix the server with my login credentials. Substituting @ with %40.... very frustrating.

I also get the same error. I looked on the Yahoo website and they said that the Calendar (and the way it is implemented in Yahoo Mail) is being upgraded over the next few days. I wonder if this is what is giving us problems. The problem might solve itself once the Calendar is upgraded.

My iPad, iPod and my wife's iPod all quit syncing with Yahoo Calendar a few days ago. Yesterday my iPad started to sync again even tho I had made no changes. I was trying everyting I could find on my iPod to no avail. I got a much delayed response from Yahoo! that had a link to the help page. One of the recently viewed was "how to set up contacts to sync with iPhone." I had never been there before so I looked at it. (Obviously the help tech did not read my request correctly as I had asked for help on Calendar.) Through dumb luck I did sort of find what worked for me. At the bottom of that help page it suggested going to Safari settings and clearing Cookies. I verified that EVERY setting for Yahoo Calendar was identical on my iPod to my iPad that was now spontaneously working, cleared both history and cookies. No joy. Then I had an epiphany. I went to Safari settings and cleared history and cookies once more - shut down the iPod and restarted it. When it came back up I went to calendars and watched all my entries populate. I cleared cookies on my wife's iPod and rebooted it with the same result.

Thanks Ken. Yahoo or Apple should hire you. I had the problem with my Ipod Touch repeatedly prompting me for my Yahhoo password stating that the one entered was incorrect. After following your procedure, I no longer get "Password Incorrect" and it populated my Calendar with my Yahoo Calendar.

I'm so thankful for this forum! I was about to go crazy thinking I'd somehow messed up my password. I finally got the CalDav to work after trying a combination of all of the tips listed above. I deleted the old account (which I'd already done and tried to recreate it with no luck). I cleared my Safard cookies and history. I recreated the CalDav account. I went to Advanced Settings in the CalDav acct and typed this Account URL:

https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/yourusername@yahoo.com///caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/yourusername@yahoo.com/. Then I restarted my phone completely and it seemed to work. Or at least my Yahoo calendar is showing up again. Just make sure in the Calendar settings to put your Yahoo calendar as the default if you want the events you create on your phone to be in your Yahoo calendar.

I have done a test event on the phone and it hasn't shown up on my online Yahoo calendar yet (updates are set to push right now) so I might play around with that to see if it changes. There might still be a glitch in the syncing but at least I've got my calendar back. Hopefully whatever is making the sync slow will get resolved soon.

The "Password Incorrect" problem has returned. I cleared Safari History & Cookies again to fix it. I'm now wondering if this problem will continue to return as Safari's history builds back up. It sounds like this maybe an Apple problem instead of a Yahoo problem.

The problem returned to my iPad also. From above you will see that the iPad spontaniously started working again, after several days of no sync, with no intervention from me. I cleared the Safari Cookies and re-booted this afternoon, and it started working again. I think it is a Yahoo! problem, and they keep changing something to do with the "ALL NEW" Calendar. Possibly Calendar is putting a cookie in the Safari cookie repository??? My iPod still works - so far at least. Not sure about my wife's as I am at work right now.

Yahoo! help sure is not helpful! They have replied twice and either do not read what I write, or do not understand what I write. And they use sentence structure like you see in an email from Asia. No disrespect meant towards Asians, it's just that their language structure is a little different than the structure of English.

You all are brilliant! I had the same synching problems. I went through and deleted my old account and added it again and then NO entries were showing. Then did Yahoo!s instructions to add a new account with the caldav.calendar.yahoo.com server (Settings > Mail Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > other > Add CalDAV Account > Server: Yahoo ) but I got the password error (in my case it said that my account information could not be verified). Finally I followed Ken's advice and cleared cookies and voila! Calendar entries came pouring in. THANKS TO EVERYONE!

Ok I thought this problem got resolved a long time ago, but it just keeps coming back!

I can do everything, delete and re-enter account, clear safari, etc. and I get the current calendar that is on my pc yahoo account on my Apple products. But now my main problem is all information I entered in my Calendar on my touch, my husband on his pad and the kids on their phones IS GONE. So I would suggest that if you entered anything on your apple products you should make sure it made it to your main yahoo calendar. Even after clearing and setting up account again it still is not syncing with Yahoo. I guess the only thing to do is not enter anything on the Apple products. Were talking a lot of entries between the four of us. Besides the fact of trying to figure out what appts. got deleted (which I'm sure we'll hear about when we miss them).

If we have to compare and re-enter all entries from/to each product this could take forever. There just doesn't seem to be any communication between Yahoo and Apple.

We need a fix, not a Band-Aid!

What worked for me on two different Ipads is the following, even though this is not what you are instructed to do by either Apple or Yahoo. Note these instructions assume you have upgraded to 5.0 or 5.0.1.

First, delete the old account (under settings, mail/contacts/calendars, find yahoo account, and delete it). You will get a warning message that the calendar events will be deleted from the Ipad. No problem, you don't want them duplicated anyway when you add it back.

Next, select add an account. Here is the different part, where what I'm telling is you different from normal guidance. Add a Yahoo account - do NOT add "other account/CalDav account" which is the instructions you receive from both Apple and Yahoo. When you add the Yahoo account, you will have the option to select mail, contacts, notes, and calendars to synchronize. Choose which you want to include. Enter the information required (Yahoo username and password). You may get a message about the security certificate not being authenticated... accept that... and proceed.

Make sure your settings have frequent updates/fetch and is not set on "manual".

This is what worked for me, after trying multiple different ways to try to go through Other/CalDav - which always resulted in a "verify account information" error.

I have tried all of the aforementioned paths: Unintalling and reinstalling the CalDav way, the Yahoo way etc. Now I don't receive the "bad password" warnig (at last!!!). This works for a while but after one or two days, the calendar seems to "freeze"; no actualizations in any way.I don't know if this is a problem of iOS 5 or Yahoo or both, but its driving me crazy. It's been about a month since this began to malfunction! So, I decided to migrate from Yahoo Calendar to iCloud Calendar, but couldn't find a way to transfer all my items in the first to the second. Any of you know how to do it?

? on another yahoo subject, has anyone gotten their yahoo reminders to sync? I know I haven't. Sounds like this is a communication problem between Yahoo and Apple.

It would be nice to hear from Apple. At least let us know someone is working on the problem. In the mean time the Apple devices are nothing but a toy to play games on.

I finally did within the past couple of weeks. It was after all the calendar issues cleared up for most of us. I have mine set up as a straight up yahoo acct in mail with the reminders turned on.

I can't get my list of calendars to update.

My wife and I have iphones and yahoo calendars which we share with each other. My wife keeps several calendars on her Yahoo account. When we first added the accounts, all calendars showed up.

Recently, we added a couple new calendars, and they're not showing up.

I've done the following:

1) Verified the calendars are shared with me

2) Deleted and re-added my Yahoo account on my iphone

3) Refreshed my list of calendars from the calendar app

4) Set push to "on" and fetch to "every 15 minutes" (to try and force the update)

5) Tried adding a caldav acct., which got me double entries for all the older calendars, but nothing from the new ones.

Still not seeing the new calendars.

This makes me think that there's a problem sharing the new calendars on the Yahoo side. I've checked and double checked, and sharing for the new calendars seems to be set the same way as for the old.

Help?
