Yahoo Calendar Not Syncing

I have a yahoo calendar configured in both my iPhone and iPad. I have three calendars within the Yahoo account. They show up in the iPhone/iPad calendar and I can add new events on the iphone in any of the Yahoo calendars. However, events that I create in iCal on a computer don't sync to the iPhone/iPad and events I create on the iPhone/iPad don't sync to iCal.

When I go to my Yahoo calendar online, the events from iCal are on the online Yahoo calendar but the iPhone/iPad events are not.

Any ideas?

Running the latest version of IOS.

Finally.

Well, not sure why, but here's what happened.

When someone shares a calendar, Yahoo sends an email. I was receiving those for the new calendars, clicking on the link to share, and entering my password. After entering my password, I was not getting a fail notice, but was being dumped back to the same screen (assumed it was just waiting for me to get back into my account).

I decided to click on the link for "can't get into my account" and was led through the process of entering a new password (after answering my security questions).

Changed my password.

Reclicked on the emails to share the calendars.

Went right to the calendars, where I could subscribe, no problem.

A lot of the solutions here seem to be brute force (add/remove the account, change the password). Obviously this was not hashed out very well between Yahoo and Apple.

The upgrade to iOS5 actually fried my wife's phone (check to see if your WiFi connection is grayed out, that's a sure sign, and they may swap your phone out).

Too much time spent doing what should be automatic. 😟

It may be an issue with Yahoo! but it also appears to be an issue with the CalDAV implementation for Yahoo! on the iPhone and iPad. Here's what I did to get my Yahoo! calendar on my iPhone and iPad.

1) On your iOS device, open the Settings application

2) Select Mail, Contacts Calendars

3) If necessary, in the Accounts section, open your Yahoo! account and make sure Calendars and Reminders are both set to "OFF"

4) Next, in the Accounts section, select "Add Account..."

5) On the Add Account... page, select "Other"

6) Under Calendars, select "Add CalDAV Account" and apply settings.

Server: caldav.calendar.yahoo.com

Use SSL: Y

Port: 443

iPhone Yahoo! Calendar Account URL: Account URL: https://YahooUserID@caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/YahooUserID///YahooUserID@caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/YahooUserID/

iPad Yahoo! Calendar Account URL: https://YahooUserID@caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users///YahooUserID@caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/

Thanks dc210. I did as you suggested and almost everything is working. ipod and pc are talking except pc to ipod reminders are not syncing. ipod to pc seems to work fine, this will work for me since I tend to put my reminders in the ipod. Thanks.

Hopefully this will take care of the problem. But I still think it would better if Apple/Yahoo would get it together so that we could just turn the calendar and reminders on under the Yahoo account setup. (the way it used to be before all the updates)

I had all of the above problems on my Touch 4G v.5.0.1:

calendar not syncing perfectly; I had a normal yahoo calendar which was working for a while- not caldav

some events missing

no 2 way sync

caldav calendar wouldn't add, can't verify account

invalid password box kept popping up

calendar not showing on list of calendars

This is what I did, which has been mentioned above:

deleted yahoo calendar account- I already had a normal yahoo calendar account, not caldav

cleared safari history and cookies

Turned off Ipod

Turned back on

Added just a yahoo caldav account- server name was just "yahoo"

No problem with the password(so far)

It synced up right away- all events there as on the computer

2 way sync works also!

I know this might not work for everyone, but just to let you know this worked for me.

Thanks to all posters for their help!!!!

I had the same problem with my Yahoo Calendar not updating with my iPhone after going to iOS5. I got it to work by going to:

Settings

Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Yahoo!

Account

SMTP (By default the Primary Server is set to Yahoo! SMTP Server, which is On)

I went down to the Other SMTP Servers:

selected the smtp.att.yahoo.com and turned that when On also.

After that it started working.

I was having the same problem and tried several of the suggestions within the responses here. What worked for me was to simply create a new mail account (with Calendar turned on) and rename it to something else. I then when through and updated all my events that were added since the syncing stopped and then deleted the old account. It seemed to work, it's now syncing with Yahoo again.

Follow up:

So my wife's phone started acting up again.

1) Events which she added on her phone were not showing up in the Yahoo! calendar.

2) Changes made to Yahoo! calendar were not showing up on her iphone

So I cleared Safari cookies & history.

I also re-entered the account password as suggested.

Now:

1) New events created on phone show up on Yahoo calendar

2) New events added on Yahoo calendar show up on iphones

however:

3) Changes made to existing event on Yahoo calendar are not showing on her iphone

4) Changes made to existing events on iphone are not showing in Yahoo calendar

5) Events added or changed on the iphone (before clearing cache and re-entering the password) are not syncing, which means that a lot of events created in that period where there was no communicate are only on her phone.

Needless to say this is insanely frustrating when we're trying to coordinate multiple calendars across multiple devices. We basically have come to the point where we don't know which calendar is correct.

It's insane that there's no force refresh button on the calendar events page (not the list of calendars).

FIX IT Yahoo! or Apple.

Someone just tell us what the ##*#&&#& we're supposed to do.
