"OS X Lion - Waiting" Can't download Lion.

I have tried to download Lion, but without success.

I purchased Lion from the App Store and the icon on the dock just says 'OS X Lion - Waiting...'

I have restarted twice and I have been able to download other applications from the App Store and Install without issue this morning. Lion has been trying to download and install for 2 hours now, but 0 bytes have been downloaded.

Anyone else having this issue?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

Originally I could not even get the download bar in the purchased section until I reconfigured my router slightly. I am now able to get the download bar. However, I still get "Waiting..." on the icon and after about 3 minutes, I receive the same error message:

An error has occurred

I still believe that it is a router problem and not the app stores' servers. Has another been able to fix this yet?

I've been having exactly the same porblem. I don't know why, but as soon I disconnected by iMac from wifi and tethered my iPhone instead the download started fine - using my iPhone's cellular data connection.

I have an "all-you-can-eat" data plan on my iPhone, so anyone else trying this fix please be aware that it could cost a fortune if you're not on such a plan.

I now know what the cause of the problem has been for me. I have been speaking to our broadband service provider (BT in the UK), who has confirmed that the issue is caused by the 2Wire 2701 router which has a known hardware fault that causes it to drop the connection when trying to download a file over 2GB in size.

BT has tried to resolve the fault but without success. There only suggestion is to borrow another router or use the older 2Wire 2700 model if you still have one.

Hope this helps some of you.

I wonder why you guys are having such crazy problems downloading Lion! I purchased it from the App Store less than half an hour ago, and it's about 50% downloaded already! Maybe it's because i'm doing it at a very late time, the servers might be less congested now. Try to download it at a different time if you're having so many problems!

I get a message on the app store "purchased" screen that states "an error has occured" next to the istall button after the lion icon sits in the dock for a couple of minutes with no data downloaded and then the icon just disappears. I've tried rebooting and have tried downloading this dozens of times with the same result. My machine meets all criteria for Lion. Any help appreciated as I do not want to just ask for my money back.

I'm having the same problem. Someone mentioned 2Wire 2701 hardware fault on files over 2GB. I have a 2Wire 2700HG with the latest firmware and it may be having the exact same problem. I've sent off a very detailed email about this problem. I'll try tethering my unlimited data phone, using another router, and another internet connection. I'll report back if one of them works.
