Anyone having problems with ichat after lion install?

I just installed Lion and having problems getting iChat to work. It won't signon to my aim account. I tried deleting all accounts and restarting.

I had the plugin Chax install which is an extension to iChat. I was wondering if anyone else was having problems?

Thanks

Hi,

That sounds like it may possibly have been set to run a Rosetta needing item in Snow Leopard for a Add-On that needed it and that you have now fully blocked access for that Add-on and solving the problem that way.

Hi johnfrommenfield,

Go to the iChat Preferences > Accounts and highlight the Bonjour Option

Deselect the Send as I type option.

For some reason this messes with the Yahoo Texting

Hi Rob Cottingham,

IMAgent is nothing to do with iChat.

It is for Face Time.

It launches when the computer does and is why Face Time will open if you get a Call.

Hi iphone236545,

Do you mean in the new Internet Preference Pane to the left of MobileMe where you can list Email and iChat names ?

Are these copied to your Own Address Book Card ?

(That's the My Card indicated by the Head and Shoulders icon)

Hi All,

I am linking this to Tom's first post.

There are now several different problems in this one thread.

I have tried to answer some people specifically and point to reasons why some suggesting might not work and why other might.

Although Tom was fairly specific in the Question he was very general in the Thread tile.

Most people jumped in with their "Me Toos"

Defcom and I post here regularly and have done for some time.

It is certainly easier for us if a thread deals with only one Issue. (It's very difficult to keep track of multiple conversations in the same thread).

Notes for All.
Check iChat Add-ons that came from a Snow Leopard Install.

Most likely you will have to Delete them.

Check System Wide Add-ons like iGlasses

Again Delete until any update comes out.

Check anything your think might have needed Rosetta (Any PPC written thing) to run in relation to iChat (How many of us remember which items those were)

The Console Utility may be holding log in that may be useful.

It is late where I am and I will pick up fresh replies tomorrow

Hi,

It would seem so.

Normally a restart would have been needed to restart IMAgent so it may have been that.

Ummm,

That is odd.

The only thing I can think of there is that the Apple ID being used in Face Time is also a valid ID in iChat such as an @mac.com or MobileMe name.
