Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
This is very annoying. I open an HTML for edition.
As far as I start edititing the file TextEdit changes the file extension to TXT and I have this option disabled on TextEdit's preferences.
How do I stop this annoying "functionality" of TextEdit ?

Also find this to be a huge inconvenience. Taking an HTML course and got a mac becuase I was led to believe they are better for this kind of thing. So far I feel like I'm working with a computer that's five or ten years behind. No save as and now this. Don't get me wrong there's great things about the Mac, but these are just basic functions we're talking about and they're messed up. Not impressed.
As of today's update to both OS X and IOS 5, it's fixed!
