Lion Finder sidebar color?

Hey!

I've just upgraded to Lion and I'm kinda dissapointed of many reasons, like the grey aweful sidebar icons in the finder app.

Is there any solution to change it back to the normal like it was in Snow Leopard?

The other thing is the Mail app. The new surface looks horrible as well, even if I change it to "classical view".

I want the older back! It was good as it was!

There is no way of adding color unless there is a third party solution out there. Grey is the new color!

Looks like it just installs the bundle for you and nothing else after that. So you still have to do killall Finder in Terminal. I already have videos on YouTube showing how to install SIMBL, the bundle, and how to make a bootscript, plus a step by step screenshots incase I was in anyway confusing. Just look up Finder Sidebar Tweak for Mac OS X Lion and Finder Sidebar Tweak for Mac OS X Lion (Update 2).

No I don't mean to say that and a thousand apologies if any offense taken.

Thanks for your post, I followed your lead and found other useful utilities.

What you did say was you like the monochrome look and from what it appeared it might do the job.

You also said you didn't try it so both me and davidh were letting people know you still need to install SIMBL and copy the download file into the directory etc.

Sorry if posts appear too blunt and very sorry if any offense taken.

Your post is highly appreciated and apologies again if my message was too blunt it wasn't intended to be.

I was just trying to be helpful to people actually just after a simple solution to the coloured icons saga!!!

Cheers

Yeah, I just also got fed up with gray. After hoping this thread would answer, and I did not, I am sending in my feedback. I do think there must be a reason for the gray fetish. My thought is that it is cultural. Recently, the TODAY TV show on NBC had a feature on how gray hair is now considered SEXY for women of all ages. Probably, female Apple employees, already were gray and wanted to show the world that an Apple gray screen is the same.

Anyway, seriously, these grays on gray hurt my eyes and I find it difficult to understand why Apple does not come out somewhere to admit the problem and solve it too. Today the business news is all abuzz with the news that APPL is still making a fortune. Apple reported great sales of its iPHONE and iPad in the last quarter of 2011, but they never pay dividends. They keep the cash and jokes are going around that Apple could provide a great stimulus to the USA by giving everyone an iPad for free, or maybe pay some of the national debt.

So, I already sent in my FEEDBACK and pointed out that there are many complaints of the community pages. You would think they would read these pages, but they say they do not. Apple does claim to read all the feedback, therefore, if you have serious gray problems, write to them on their feedback email form.😠
