Lion Finder sidebar color?

Hey!

I've just upgraded to Lion and I'm kinda dissapointed of many reasons, like the grey aweful sidebar icons in the finder app.

Is there any solution to change it back to the normal like it was in Snow Leopard?

The other thing is the Mail app. The new surface looks horrible as well, even if I change it to "classical view".

I want the older back! It was good as it was!

There is no way of adding color unless there is a third party solution out there. Grey is the new color!

Life Hack it:

Yep.

It works. I'm using it.. and yes, its a hack, pretty benign...although the SIMPL plugin warns, 'could freeze finder.'

I doubt it. The .plist in the .bundle (see LifeHacker) just remaps the icons, to EXISTING colored versions that were already

HERE:

/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/

See for yourself... There are GRAY ones Starting with SideBar..., AND colored ones (the Snow Lep ones).... if you're geeky like that.

I found the link to run SIMBL etc but I seem to have a simpler way to make them always colour.

Using Automator I created a new APP and dragged the shell script function over to the right hand side then just typed "killall Finder" with no quotes. I saved this as an app and put it in my apps folder.

Then in system preferences, accounts I added this app as a login item.

it works perfectly and I dont need knowledge of scripting

Thank you so much norbertfromvienna, I LOVE that app Lion Tweaks. It does so much more than just the colorful side bar. And its much easier to use for people like me that keep having trouble doing things with terminal. I am just not a natural at coding. The guy who invented Lion Tweaks just asks for a tiny donation to get by. Its really worth it. I found mine here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/39654/lion-tweaks

I already posted my simple Automator App in Login Items method to restart the finder after power up.

I agree Lion Tweaks just asks you to manually install SIMBL but I am curious if it has some solution to needing to run killall Finder all the time.

Since I have a working solution I haven't tried.

From what I can see, apart from the coloured sidebar and making the dock 2D (who would want to do that) every other feature appears to just save you time going into system preferences.
