Lion Finder sidebar color?

It doesn't restore the icons in "Load File" dialogs, but it does restore the colors on the desktop, whichis already very cool.

You're welcome. The one downside is when you log back in it will reset the icons back to the monochrome sidebar. You'll just have to open up Terminal again and type in killall Finder. Atleast it's something so not a big turn off for me at least.

my problem is that being a layman in these things, i'm kind of scared to try them out & then have my computer freak out on me, you know ? :-(

^ Yeah well it's the first attempt, and I am happy for it. I am sure it will get better as time moves on. One could also write a loing script that does this automatically. But, since I never turn off my computer or log out, no biggie.

Excellent job tracking these down/testing, You all. Much gratitude. Colorfulsidebar's effects (brings back custom icons) does not carry over to Pathfinder for me, testing icondubber next.

Yeah! ColorfulSidebar works great, i have back my old sidebar!

Now gonna try iCondubber.

Tested icondubber. You can replace sidebar icons but they go grey scale. This also wont fix the overriding of custom icons you just get to tinker with the few they use to override all sidebar icons. so all apps/folders/docs will still be clones of each other icon-wise in the sidebar. Works system wide though so its a great gui tweaker.

Colorfulsidebar would be perfect for me if it was system wide (working in all apps using the sidebar ie Pathfinder) as it restores costom icons as it was in previous os x versions, but its Finder only.

i'm happy again, now for life to be perfect, all i need is to find a way to replace the standard icons with my own as i had before.....

You can still use CandyBar or icondubber to change your icons.
