It does look promising for consumer/prosumers but the way it was handled leaves much to be desired. Apple should have learned from the iMovie fiasco.
New product? Give it a new name while keeping around and supporting the previous one for a period of time. There would have been little outcry had that happened. Give new people a new tool to use and grow and give the older ones time to adjust while adding new features or, in this case, re-adding the missing ones. It's common sense.
It's a good thing this slightly different OS is called 'Lion' and not 'Snow Leopard Senior'... 😉
