Screen flicker after Lion upgrade

Mac mini upgrade to Lion – the upgrade was smooth howeveronce it started up for the 1^st time I noticed a flickering screen. Makingany Display changes from System Preferences causes the screen to switch of (sameas when screen has no input) even if I just try to change the rotation, nomatter what I do it does not come back until I force a restart using the powerbutton. I have a Acer monitor connected via HDMI cable, I have had no issuesbefore the upgade. Anybody else seeing the same thing or perhaps have tips toget this resolved.

I remported my problems in this thread some time ago and am happy to say that the latest lion iCloud update fixed my display flicker :-)

I had the same flickering problem after the recent upgrade to 10.7.2 on a mid 2010 MacPro 2,8GHz.

Unplugging the monitor cable from the video card during runtime, as suggested by Jeff Miller 2, solved it nicely and, so far, permanently.

This worked on my set-up:

Opened QuartzDebug

Selected Window tab

Selected FrameMeter

Placed FrameMeter 'between' monitors....kind of out of the way - flickering (artifacting?) ended immediately. Flickering begins again if I turn off Beam Sync OR move the FrameMeter into one monitor COMPLETELY.

I use the displayport (adapted to HDMI) and HDMI to HDMI from a 5870.

The latest ESI firmware update has resolved the flickering display on my Macbook Pro 15" late 2008 model.

The latest ESI firmware has made my 2010 MBP 17" flicker... ...AND lag using Launchpad! 😟

I also got the ESI firmware update and it fixed my screen flicker. Wonderful!

My MBP is a late 2008 15"...
