Dymo Label Printers and Lion
Dymo's website says Dymo does not support Lion. I have a 450 Twin Turbo that now does not work with Lion. Has anyone found a workaround until Dymo updates their drivers?

Yes I know it works on 10.7 Lion but for me it's not working on 10.8.6, I have contacted Dymo support but I also would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same problem I am having and has found a way to make it install without hanging on 10.8.6
It eventually installed (the one minute took severl hours), I upgraded to Lion and now have another very nasty problem, the Dymo software only wants to print onto the right hand label of my Twin Turbo printer, in other words it's printing the address onto the postage label and not taking any notice of which side of the twin turbo I select in the dymo software.
I am losing confidence in Dymo here unfortunately . . . . . now I can't print address labels.
Confirmed, the new software, so effectively Lion kills the Dymo Twin turbo. I now have no way to control which side of the printer the address is printed on and which side the postage is printed on. It works until I open Encidia software and use it to print a label and after that the Dymo software will only print on the same side of the printer that the postage label has been printed on. What a rediculous problem and amazing that Dymo released this version with no control over the twin turbo.
The new driver has been removed. No explanation or anything from Dymo. At the moment I have a useless 450 Turbo. Great company.
@Joseph, This is a world wide issue, they are woking to get it solved asap, if you are really in need I can check in the office tommorow for download link
I tried to launch Dymo label software 8.4.1.1803 for my Labelwriter 400 for the first time this morning after upgrading my iMac to Mountain Lion 10.8 and initially I got a message saying the driver for the printer was not found, and to re-install the driver. I did so, and now the app won't even open. It says I should check with the dev to see if there are any updates, and I may have to re-install the software. Tried that, and no luck at all. Hope they update it soon, I used to use it all the time
You have some other issue because I have had the Dymo software running fine and printing on two iMacs with 10.8
@megalaser After reading your post I was more determined to make it work, so I downloaded the package again, ran the uninstall, ran the install, connected the printer, clicked on finish install, the software launched with no error messages, and I just printed a label with no issues!! AWESOME! Thanks for the boot in the backside!

Here's the latest update for the DYMO!! Works perfectly!!! 🙂
Hi blackknife
I am having the exact same issues you experienced plud when I run the Installer it sits for an hour or so with mega disk actvity saying 'Running package Scripts' and nothing much I can do other than cancel the installer via a Force Update.
When I ran the installer I did not see an uninstall option. can you please advise where I can find that.
Thanks
It's been a while so I don't recall exactly, but I think if you go to custom install there may be an uninstaller. Please read some of the previous posts as well, they are much more knowledgable than I am. You may want to repair permissions, and or repair disc before doing anything. Hopefully someone else will chime in and get you sorted.
Thanks blackknife. I uninstalled earlier today using Appzapper and then reran the install. It got to the Running package Scripts again and after 30 minutes of constant HDD activity I just left it while I went to Starbucks. When I came back it had completed successfully and now, after 2 months of no label printer, it is working perfectly. yay 🙂
Thanks for your comment and words of advice.
Glad you got it running properly, although I'm pretty baffled why the install would take so long. Mine only took a minute or two if I remember correctly (again, it's been a while and it may have taken longer, but I think a super long install would stick out in my memory). Do you use any maintenance apps? You may want to consider Onyx if you're not already using something to keep the machine running properly. I'd be pretty freaked out if an install took that long on my iMac, but then again, if it ain't broke...... don't fix it right! Cheers!
