I upgraded to Lion on my Macbook Pro today.
While testing out the new features, I opened photo booth and saw the first page featuring new face tracking options, but none of them were showing up in the preview or when I tried to click on them. Also, I put my cursor over the 'Camera' option in the menu bar and the application crashed, and continues to do so.
Anyone having the same problem? Any solutions would be appreciated. Thanks : )

Actually, your problem was my solution. I couldn't get my recorded video clips to play back. So I went to Photo Booth Information and placed a check mark next to "Open in 32-bit mode" and it solved my problem!

I'm on LION and have tried the unclicking the 32 bit (which was actually off by default so I checked and unchecked again) but still runs really slowly (lots of beach balls) an then crashes especially when trying to get at the recordings (which I reallly need)
Anyone any other ideas?
I have the same problem. Photobooth crashes after 2 seconds of filming w/o fail. EXCEPT when I use an effect, then it works fine, but with no effects it always crashes... have you tried using an effect?
My 32bit is unchecked by default, so it's not that.....
I just tried this (filming with an effect) and your statement held true for my computer as well! I used to be able to film normally before I upgraded to Lion. I'm getting pretty annoyed because I can't go more than 3-5 seconds of filming. Ridiculous.
This worked for me. Simple fix to a frustrating problem. Camera worked fine with SKype but not in Photo Booth and the "I right clicked on the Photo Booth application in my Finder, clicked 'get info', and unchecked the "Run in 32-bit mode" did the job! Thanks!
It did not work for me. I have try to re-install Lion bit it did not work. The Photo Booth hold in the following screen.
The FaceTime also did not work.

I also have the same problem but not when I use an effect. I don't have iGlasses or anything. Checking and unchecking 32 bit mode doesn't work.
Without effects, I can record for a few seconds before it crashes but I have just recorded for 45 minutes in Sepia. Very irritating but it seems to be the only solution for some of us.
I wish that I could install snow leopard on my laptop but it is impossible. Snow Leopard was perfect, my laptop got stolen so I had to buy a new one with Lion and I have nothing but problems.

Just in case you're as clueless as I was, it was pointed out to me recently that you can record videos in Quick Time instead of Photo Booth. For me, this works fine. In fact it's much better because you're not stuck with the demented aspect ratio.
Almost a year later, I haven't found a solution to the Photo Booth problem.
