Quicktime not opening AVI files in Lion.

I just installed OS X Lion but when I try to open any AVI video with Quicktime that reads "The Document <filename> could not be opened. A required codec is not available." I clicked the "Tell Me More" button and I redownloaded the DIVX codec but my files still don't open with quicktime. Is it possible that my codec is not compatible with Quicktime for Lion? But then again the Quicktime application is still the same, it hasn't been updated since Snow Leopard. Is anyone else encountering this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), 15" MacBook Pro, Intel Core i7

Had this problem too with OSX Lion and didn't want to get into a mess uninstalling, installing, moving codecs, etc...I came across a solution elsewhere.....I just downloaded MPlayerX free from the app store and it worked with avi files no problem.
