"Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is broken

Hello,

Since updating to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion this morning, the "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" feature is broken.

In the mouse control panel the checkbox for "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" is definitely checked. The default Control ^ key is selected. I verified I'm hitting the correct key on the keyboard using the keyboard viewer.

I've tried using this with 2 finger scrolling on my trackpack as well. I've also tried turning off most of the trackpack geustures.

I tried searching these forums prior to posting and found replies telling people with various different situations to turn this feature off. I want it on. I use it constantly.

I have a MacBook Pro Aluminum 13-Inch Mid 2010

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (11A511)

Any advise would be appreciated!

Thanks.

I guess it's no secret, but there is a problem with the zoom feature, and it's somehow connected to the screensaver being active when the computer goes into sleep mode. There are 2 quick ways to work around this without having to log off or reboot all the time !. Turn off your screen saver, and zoom should always be available to you. 2. If you need the screen saver, activate one of the hot corners in the screen saver selection area. When your machine refuses to zoom, activate the screensaver by using the hot corner for a few seconds. When you return to your desktop, the zoom will be working again. I works every time for me. Good Luck everybody and I'm sure this little hiccup will be fixed in a short time.

I've run into this problem too since upgrading to Lion.

This, for me is the 3rd major issues with the upgrade !

I'm really rather wishing I'd waited 6 months now, but surley Apple has the cash to sort these things out before pushing a major update ? It's crazy isn't it ?

I suppose the alternative is Like M$ where you have to upgrade to Windows <Next> at an extortionate cost ?

This still hasn't been fixed? I occasionally lose access to the zoom feature. It worked fine earlier today, and then stopped working at some point.

It's easy enough to fix. Goto System Preferences > Mouse. The "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding..." is checked. Disable and immediately re-enable the option. Zoom should work again. Simple, but annoying.

Please fix this issue.
