Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

iTunes 10.4.0.80 does not allow copy / paste for album artwork.

Only importing picture now works. Any one else having this problem?

Same here. Downloaded 10.4.0.80 this morning, using Windows 7. Copy & paste from webpage using Firefox just pastes as a solid black picture, but drag & drop works. A minor pain because you have to "set up" in iTunes first (select song or multiple songs, then drag & drop), rather than just copying to clipboard then pasting once you have the songs you want, but it's workaroundable. Hopefully fixed in a new version/patch soon

Basically, in windows when you copy an image (not image file) the actual data is copied into the clipboard. However, you can't paste it directly into a folder, you have to paste it into an image editing software like Paint or Photoshop and then save it as an image file.

But when you copy an image file (.png, .gif, .jpg, etc), windows just make a pointer to the file location and when you paste it windows call the copy command with location as a parameter. IE usually caches images and other media files so when you copy an image in IE you actually just copy the cached image.

7plus do this dirty job for you, after it's installed you can directly paste images/text into an explorer window and 7plus will create the image/text file for you. It's that easy.

This actually solved the album artwork problem. It's not the optimal solution, but it's the easiest one until Apple release a new update or batch.

Hope that helps,

Please advise how 7plus helps. I have looked at the features and see nothing relevant.

Ditto.

BTW it's not a solid black image, it is transparent. The artwork panel has a black background which is normally obscured by square images but since the pasted image has no content all you get is the black square. Look at the same image in the artwork panel of get info and it will be white.

The way I got it working is to Download the album cover to your computer then right click a song on the album and click get info then look under album art then click add chose the art work folder you downloaded once you do that it will appear on that song but that song only to get it on the whole album keep doing this or you can right click the song and press copy exit out and then go to the the album right click it press get info then you will see a square that has the words album art above it paste the album art then it should work. You should not face to go under the whole album and paste it if you only have 1 song or it was released as a single
