I have just upgrade to 10.7 Lion last night. Whenever I change the volume, no matter by pressing the volume up or down button on the keyboard, or using the mouse to change the volume on the top bar, the computer hangs for a while, with no sound, for a few seconds, the youtube video reset or hang, even the Safari hangs for a few seconds.
Anyone has the same problem? Any fix on this?

That's great Kate. Overall I'm quite happy with Lion. Shouldn't be long before the fix arrives!

I havent streamed iTunes since the Lion upgrade but will fire it up and check. This issue is so different from this thread that you may want to consider starting a new one and paste a link here.

Its cost apple 456 dollars on my machine, they replaced my system board and I still have the same issue! maybe that will expedite the patch 🙂
Folks, Check your Keyboard preferences. My son was playing around and checked off the box so all F Keys were acting like F1, thus my Volume Control wasn't working. Hope it helps.
Reset PRAM is the answer.
Fixed the no-sound problem for the free Java app "Impro-Visor". A great relief!
I can't see that anything was really a cure. I can't make the PRAM reset- I only get the one tone.
