Mudflap's suggestion of zapping the PRAM seems to have worked for me, but seeing as there supposedly was an update released yesterday (the 27th), I have yet to install it and might be that much closer to further preventing this problem from happening again.
I've been having this problem for weeks.
I visited the Genious Bar at Grand Central Station in New York and was given a code (Ts4209) which I applied to Apple Support, when I got home. It gave me a link to an iMac update that cured the Lion WIFI probem after I downloaded and installed it on my iMac.
