Do u have a CS package, or just PS? Do the other apps work? If so, I would not revert to SL just yet...as there would be hope. But I know, I can't live 20 minutes without PS. Btw, is it CS5.5 or just 5? I can't remember if it's a free upgrade or not, but if you have just 5, it might be worth the time to download the trial of 5.5 and see if your files work any better in that. That would tell u something anyway...

That's a strange one...I saw something like this with a client of mine. He had PC PS files created in a pre-CS version. I was given the files to work on, and they would not open in SL, and with CS 5.1. It drove me nuts, and I finally told the client to see if he could update his PS. He did, resaved his work, and then all was fine on my mac.

I haven't tried using my version of PS CS5 today yet, however there are other programs that I use that are not working correctly with lion either. What I am going to do when I get home is partition my HD and reinstall my version of SL that came with my computer. This is the only fix that I see which is better than completely uninstalling and then reinstalling.

I have no issues with CS5 after the upgrade to Lion, but I found that Safari would not even start. With great help from Applecare, we found that Adobe FLASH plug-in was the killer. With that plugin removed, Safari works fine. I'm not sure what plugins you may have with CS5, but I'd disable/remove all of them, restart CS5 and try again. If that works, try adding the plugins one at a time (and restart CS5) to find the guilty party. Good luck! CS5 flys with Lion.

It is not one file. It is all files i have created in PSD prior to Lion install. It is a basic 72 ppi file with about 6 layers and a layers folder. That simple. I open the file and even if i try move an object 1 pixel, it hangs in beachball mode for about 1 minute. even if i try select a layer in the layers palette it hangs for a few minutes. eventually photoshop becomse non responsive. I open the same files in CS4 and everything works perfectly. I followed ll the java install instructions etc. nothing helped. I have no plugins - just the original CS5 photohop. I cant see any articles on adobe support.
