The verical scoll bar arrows are no longer there on OS X 10.7.
Any way in System prefs or Safari prefs to get them back?

Yep. 🙂 That's most likely why no third party developer has been able to come up with a hack. If the OS was capable of implementing them, then someone would have made a hack by now. Hmmmmm.....yet noone has. Interesting. 😉

Who said anything about third-party? I think it's cute that you think Apple couldn't make a UI change without changing the entire OS. Apparently you've never heard of OOP. Just a 35 year old concept.

When someone makes a request, I would never be dumb enough to say "You don't need that." How would I know what you need? Sadly, though that 'brain bar' isn't set very high... some here just can't seem to clear it.

What petermac87 seems to be so threatened by is the simple notion that the computer is a tool, that it is useful only as far as it serves our needs. If one's needs are so narrow or so malleable to mere design, then fine. Get an iOS device. Most people, however, still believe that their computers should actually be useful — making work easier, not more difficult. It's simple self-respect. Do you control your work, your life, or does the machine and its designers? Who serves whom?
Is this where I request scroll bar arrows? Dear Apple, can you please rewrite your entire OS (haha) to re-include scroll bar arrows? This may sound like an immensely arduous task, especially since your new and evolved users are mad at the mere suggestion....but please, the scroll bar arrow buttons are immensely useful and productive and I stopped buying your products since OS 6.8. Sincerely, a computer user.
