Scroll Bar arrows Gone?
The verical scoll bar arrows are no longer there on OS X 10.7.
Any way in System prefs or Safari prefs to get them back?
Imac 20, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 10.7 installed

Not much. All my Macs are now using Mavericks. This is a very old Lion thread. But if it's in a magazine then it must be true.
Good luck
Pete
Apple is a great company, but not the company it once was in leading the charge with the best interface focused on "usability" and "ease of use". Scroll arrows are gone, and I don't think they will be coming back. I hope Apple can get over the idea that 2 dimensional monochrome icons and buttons that are indistinguishable from text (in iOS primarily) are somehow easy, productive, or innovative (hello? - they look just like Google+ or Microsoft's web site). It's not arrogance, it's ignorant arrogance. Or as we say, plenty of "opportunities for improvement!"
I think they 'got over the idea' as they have released two major OSXs since Lion.
Cheers
Pete
I don't care what he says. I'm only interested in keeping the thread up and hopefully gather enough comments for Apple to take note and repair their software.

There are no 'repairs' to be done.
Pete
That would be where you are completely wrong. Actual users of the software complain that it is broken. Therefore it needs to be repaired. Just because you cannot comprehend business use of software, and have no concept of productivity through reduced motions of the fingers and hand, does not mean the software is fully functional. Businesses are abandoning Apple in droves. All the gains made in market share over the last 20 years are evaporating. Apple appears to be throwing in the towel where business is concerned. This is a tragic mistake.
This feature was removed years back. Removed is not broken. There is nothing to repair.

I, personally, need scroll bar arrow buttons to maneuver through long lists incrementally. This feature could be turned off and hidden for the masses that have no use of them. As an alternative I have decided to forego the beauty of Mac OS updates in favor of 10.6.8 eternally, and Windows. Magic trackpad features are imprecise. I'll keep checking for updates too include the very useful scroll bar arrow buttons. No offense to people who have "moved on" or "evolved" without them. It is strange to remove useful input functions. I guess it is too expensive to write the code for them, and I may not be in the target market for Apple anymore. P.S. my first computer was Apple IIe

Hi petermac87,
This is chrismac85.
When they removed the Arrows it did break and needs repair.
Many times we receive cells over 1000 characters or more long. I'm unable to scroll throught the field bit by bit to review. The arrows allowed this, but tabbing, magic mouse, keyboard arrows, etc... does not allow me to "SCROLL" through the field.
Without the arrow it will jump from current cell to the next skipping the long data. This is a problem.
The feature was removed. Nothing was broken.
Pete
When they removed this feature other functions now do not work. Please see my and retr0tunes recent responses. I'd be happy to demonstrate for anybody at Apple.
Then go to an Apple store. We don't work for Apple.
Pete
At least we can all agree scroll bar arrow buttons are a "feature" (a good thing). Also, they're "functional" (useful).
Were a feature. Past tense.
