Scroll Bar arrows Gone?
The verical scoll bar arrows are no longer there on OS X 10.7.
Any way in System prefs or Safari prefs to get them back?
Imac 20, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 10.7 installed

And there it is! 😉
The point being to evolve with up-to-date OS, while maintaining functionality.
"At least we can all agree that it is a "fault" to remove scroll bar arrows...;)"
Business mistake, I would say. But we'll see.

Hey, didn't Tiger have scroll bar Arrows as you require?

Yes. Which makes the lack of scrollbar arrows a non-issue at home, at least so long as the iMac continues to function, and a very strong reason to keep the old hardware going until it's as beat-up as my vintage DOS-only notebook.
But that doesn't help much at work, where I'm expected to (at least occasionally) accomplish something useful.
And your point (assuming you have one) was?
And "retr0," I'd say that it's more a matter of Evolve instead of DEvolve.
And Scott, it's only a business mistake if Apple wants to continue to sell computers to people who want to accomplish useful work on them. They could be trying to abandon us, leaving us at the mercy of MicroSloth, where we are perpetually paying "The Bill."
We have not seen any response (by way of feature return) from Apple in almost three years to this change to the last three OSXs. What makes you so hopeful today, dude?
Pete
Several years ago, a new version of Microsoft Office for Mac had dumped Visual Basic support in favor of Applescript. A good number of people could not upgrade, because their work depended on macros written in Visual Basic. It took a while, but eventually Microsoft brought back Visual Basic support. I'm sad to say that I don't in fact have as much hope that Apple will respond to the needs of people who actually work on Macs. They have obviously decided to jump wholly into the pabulum market to feed only the infantile needs of people like petermac87.

And the millions of others that have bought Macs over the last three years and never even seen the aincient scroll bar arrows. Nor will the future buyers of the future hardware/software.These are their present and future market. Not old users who cannot adapt to something new in almost three years.
But you can always contact them

Imagine their joyand amazement if/when Apple includes scroll bar arrows in Mac OS 11
*joy and amazement

They would probably complain about it as a crappy, new, unwanted feature, just as you are complaining. Happens with every OSX released. Most can adapt, a handful can't. That's why the same old names keep posting here.
But hold out for another 3 years and who knows?
What is OS 11? Can you link us to some documentation on it?
Thanks in advance
Pete

Really? XI. Eleven. Whatever you want to call it.

There are many, many unwanted, unneccesary features in Mavericks. Luckily for users there is a control panel to adjust settings. Most people I know do not complain about turning unwanted features off. They are happier with options. IMO. Thanks for your opinion.
Happily swallowing whatever Mama Apple feeds you is not "adapting", it's being a mindless consumer. Admittedly, however, you're probably a lot happier than people who think for themselves, if "happy" can apply to someone without personality.
As for actual computer users adapting, the posters here have often made it clear that they've been adapting since DOS and Apple II days (and before). Petermac87 doesn't know from adapting. The only thing flexible about him is his an-us. Ready for Apple's next move.

I have never seen any claim from Apple about ever producing an OS 11. Just asking if you have a link or is this just another uninformed guess or speculation? You really never supply any facts, do you? Yet you expect people to just accept what you say? Very convincing.
Oh and there are control panels on ALL OSXs to adjust settings. In fact in ALL OSs. Why do you single out Mavericks?

Why is there no option yet in Mavericks to activate scrollbar arrows?

Or Lion. Or Mountain Lion. Because (and you may have missed this in the thread) they were removed by Apple after Snow Leopard, almost three years ago so there is nothing to activate. Why can't you activate Gatekeeper or Mission Control or Launchpad in Snow Leopard? Because they didn't exist in that OSX.
