FaceTime Error after Lion Installed!

"The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later"

Same problem with everyone after installing the Lion OS!! So, looks like Apple needs to fix from their end; not digging the user's computer. Like going to Key Chain and delete the certificate or some crazy fix installing fresh Lion!

I am also having this problem. And expecting Apple's prompt response on this issue.

Thanks!

Go to your Applications folder and open face time from there. Do not open it from the Launchpad or your dock.

You can then replace the one in your dock with the one from the applications folder. I'm still not sure how to replace the one in the launchpad.

This also happened for me with iCal, Address book, and a whole bunch of other apple apps.

Hi,

I see no-one in that other thread has said it has worked.

(At least two did like the music so that's something)

Hey Hey

There can be various ways to fix a single problem. Everybodys systems are configured differently therefore one solution may work over the other.

Most people accept and appreciate another persons help weather it works or not. I do my best to help solve an issue weather I may fix the problem or not. Im not lashing back or anything.

And for my music.... youtube made me use it.

Hi,

Realistically making sure your router is also set to the same Time Zone as the OS is just as as important.

In most cases it is a questions of checking which settings have changed on installing Lion compared to a Snow Leopard set up.

As you say it could be as simple as the Date and Time Setting

Just as easily it could be the current settings for Face Time in the Firewall.

Or the Language settings

More likely the DNS settings in System Preferences > Network.

Possibly the Ownership and Permissions of the Home Folder, it's Library or individual Preferences .plists

Turning Off Face Time in it's preferences and Quitting, then restarting and turning it On again will let you know if you can Write to the .plist

(Quitting IMAgent in the Activity Monitor and then restarting Face time certainly will Write to the .plist)

Checking the My Card (Head and Shoulders icon) in the Address Book would be another check to do.

In fact anything that has occurred at other Upgrades (Panther to Tiger, Tiger to Leopard etc) would be wise.

At present I am following several Face Time threads but cannot "see" a common "Fix" to any of them.

The number of people involved suggests that a "common" fix is more likely.

Nothing is clear at the moment and "this worked for me" statement would be the way to go.

Same problem - it's the only "New" application that is not working and i've also read many threads regarding this issue. I think Apple sees this on the Apple Support Commuinity and according to one of the Apple Technicians I spoke with, said a fix will be made soon as they are aware of this problem, but it is disappointing because I really was looking forward to using it.
