I installed Lion yesterday, and suddenly Quicktime can't play the video part of .avi or .wmv files (it can still play the audio). I re-installed Flip4Mac but that didn't fix it. VLC still works, but now I can't view the files in Safari b/c Quicktime is responsible for playing them there.
Any advice on what to do?

Edit: I also re-installed Perian, no changes.

I uninstall Fli4Mac and downloaded again and restart. It is working now. I can see all my old .wmv clips.
This worked for me also.Had to delete the Xvid codec from Qtime library.You will still need Perian to play AVIs in QT
Lowbflat,,You saved me! I followed your directions on my iMac so that I could play downloaded .avi tv shows on my AppleTV and this worked like a charm! All of my vids were just showing as a black screen with no audio in flip player and QT10. Thanks so much. I never would have figured this out on my own. 😀
