No unfortunately this did not work, mine sets up the exchange account as if all is ok. Then when I open mail it is offline and I click to bring all accounts online, it thinks about it for a while then it asks for the password again, thinks about says the server has rejected and keeps repeating forever, pleeaaaseee help, it is doing my nut in, I need to get it working soon. Apple please fix with update please. Not impressed with Lion at all.

@Gary It sounds like you have a setting wrong and it's not the same issue of Exchange losing info. It could be another problem, but just in case, check all your settings and talk to your Exchange provider or sysadmin to make sure you have everything correct. I'd hate fo you nbot to have ANY mail when your issue is something as simple as a missed dot or a wrong server address.

YES, let's get the 10.7.1 BUG fix out BEFORE 10.7.2 to fix these nagging problems which plague us several times a day. Waiting for 10.7.2 for "later in the year" is just too far away to fathom.

Apple has been pushing out OS X 10.7.2 builds to developers for the past several weeks in order to provide compatibility with iCloud, scheduled for release later this year. Apple has yet, however, to begin seeding OS X 10.7.1, which could still appear as a bug fix build released before iCloud goes live.

Anyone notice 10.7.1 is out? I bit. Let's see what happens. No mention of Exchange in the update list. Nothing I could find on the Intertubes about 10.7.1 and Exchange, but maybe, hopefully it's in there.

With that said, I updated and ran Mail. The folders that had slowly disappeared throughout the day like they often do, did not come right back. So MAYBE the update won't make Mail resynch to get the folders straight, but maybe things will be OK when all the folders come back like they do after they all disappear. I'm not going to force a rebuild by deleting and adding back in my Exchange account just yet. I did try Mailbox, Rebuild and that didn't help.

Or maybe the update does nothing about the Exchnage issues and we're still SOL. Let us know what kind of mileage YOU are getting from 10.7.1.

I had/have the Lion Mail "Changing flags" bug.

That is, after a while, the Exchange account fails to complete actions such as getting mail, deleting mail or moving mail to other folders. This turned out to be because it was stuck on "Changing Flags".

The way to clear the jam was to "Stop" (big Red Stop Sign) the "Changing Flags" activity in the Activity Window.

I installed the update to 10.7.1 last night, and things seem to be OK.

Probably early days - I will report if I get the problem again.

I just called Apple back to see if there was any update on my trouble ticket being that this is a known issue and it's being worked on and MAYBE 10.7.1 would fix it and it's not fixed YET. Of course the tech knows nothing about it, only that it's not fixed - because I told her it's not fixed. The techs of course won't be told if it will be addressed in 10.7.2 or not and we can only wait and hope that it gets fixed in 10.7.2.

After upgrading to Lion, I'm also not able to connect to our companies Exchange 2007 with the latest SP and rollups.

With SnowLeopard I didn't had any issues.

I removed and added the Exchange account several times but neither iCal, Mail or the Addressbook is getting any information from Exchange.

Please get this fixed asap and hopefully with the next release....

I want to add my name to the list of users experiencing this problem. The circumstances are slightly different: I have two brand new MacBook Pro 17" Thunderbolt machines which came with Lion pre-installed and are not capable of running Snow Leopard. The server end of the equation is SBS2008 which is fully updated with Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3.

The initial connection is auto-discovered quickly and correctly using Lion Mail or Outlook 2011 and there is no password problem. However, only the senders and subjects of messages in the mailbox are visible.

If anyone from Apple would like to pursue the matter, I can offer troubleshooting access to both client and server. We are desperate to resolve the problem as the laptops are for senior executives who are hoping to be impressed by their first foray into the world of Macintosh. As it stands their mail/calendar/contacts capabilities on these gleaming new machines are dismal. I know I could use IMAP and other workarounds to give them halfway useable systems, but I shouldn't have to...

I worked on this over the weekend. I upgraded Exchange 2010 to SP1 and applied all of the other updates. I wasn't able to get anything any different. I did however try something that I noticed on the ipad. When I open up mail.app I put in my name, then for email I put in domain\firstname.lastname@somecompany.com and put in my password. It worked....I didn't have any more problems with it. I am not sure this will help anyone out, but it worked for me so I thought I would put it out here.

Hope it helps.
