in france, i haven't find forum who speak about our problem

what is your hardware, imac ?

for me, it's an imac 2010

this afternoon, i install snow leopard, and at this moment, i do the upgrade to lion

after, i try for the fourth time, the install of xcode

i doesn't install anything else beetween each install

if tomorrow, install of xcode fail, i think to it's a problem with the package, who affect only two or three person in the world :-(

i went gone three weeks in holiday, if after that, there's no upgrade by apple, i think i sell my imac

for me, it's a 2006 Mac Pro Quad-Xeon... I'm pretty sure it's not hardware-related.

It rather looks like Apple didn't plan for fresh installs. Maybe it works when you got XCode installed on SnowLeo prior to upgrading to Lion and then downloading the new XCode.

However, I did a fresh install of Lion (means: fresh install of SnowLeo, then updated SnowLeo to the latest revision, then installed Lion). So there was no XCode there before. My guess is, that this one package (com.apple.pkg.DeveloperToolsLeo) doesn't work with Lion -- but most people don't recognize it because they had a running XCode installed previously, so that package doesn't need to install.

Anyway, we still need a solution from Apple!

I have the same problem on my Macbook (2.1) with a Leo and Xcode 4.1.

I uninstalled the old Xcode with the script than repaired the permission, but I still not able to install the DeveloperTools.pkg. I hope somebody will find a solution soon!

This problem looks the same ridiculous situation as it was the ITunes, which I could install only from console with the softwareupdate command.
