Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Is there a list of applications that support 'versions' in Lion?

Has anyone found or compiled a list of applications that support versions in Lion? It'd be helpful to know before purchasing new software and having to wait for replies from each software developer. I've seen the roaring apps list, but it doesn't get detailed enough.

Just came across this discussion. Was reading the new MacWorld, and on page 36, it talked about this "Versions" gimmick. I tried it first in Safari, then opened Pages and no dice... there was no triangle or arrow or anything.

After reading here, I tried it in textedit, and again nothing.

I'm wondering if I may have switched something off in system preferences (which I rerely if ever visit). Maybe there is a setting in Time Machine? <<Just checked-- there is a checkbow about locking documents after a certain amount of time after the last edit, but I cannot see how that would apply to what Im seeing here.>>

I should have not tried to explore this "productivity tool" while working on an early Monday deadline, it seems. Now I've got that fiery-eyed "I'm going to get to the bottom of this" glare, as opposed to just re-writing from memory the one line I deleted.

It's times like this I must remind myself, "The computers don't work for us, we work for them."

TextEdit Versions =======

To see the Versions menu, click on the document file name shown at the top. Dont click on the little icon, click on the file name. This is what I saw on the menu: (the contents might be differerent and some items may be disabled)
