Exchange problems in Mac Mail Lion

After installing Lion, my exchange account won't connect in Mac Mail. I tried connecting through OWA and Entourage and they both worked fine. I'd really like to use Mac Mail instead of Entourage so I'm trying to figure the problem. Any ideas why exchange won't work in Mac Mail?

I've already reinstalled OS X Lion.

It gives me an error:

I'm having the same connection problem with Mail in Lion as described in the first entry.

As I've seen that there is a 10.7.1 out now I was hoping that this will fix the isues, but unfortunately I did not help.

So I'm still on the same problem that I cannot connect to an Exchange Server 2007 SP1 Update 5.

Apple, please fix this ASAP.

Anyone any idea how to install Mail 4.0 on Lion?

It was working with SL and Mail 4.0 all the time.

EXACT same problem here as well. Macbook Air (late 2010). Fresh install of OS X Lion. Added update to 10.7.1. COMPLETELY unable to connect to my Corporate Exchange server, even though our Exchange Admin has already applied the suggested updates, even though my iPhone 4, iPad2, iPad all CONNECT OK. It's only my new MacBook Air with Lion that says the 'server is not responding. This HAS to be something in the new Mail 5 client, or the combination of Lion and the MBA. Apple....can SOMEONE please provide some QUICK HELP here ? This is NOT due to anything 'migrated', since all installs are fresh.

HELP....PLEASE !!

Thanks in advance for any help ANYONE can offer.....

The gentleman from Microsoft declined to respond, since they're a paid service and I'm not the one paying. GaryFromScarborough....can you perhaps provide more detail about what was deleted where ? My new Macbook Air has a 100% fresh install of OSX Lion, and I'm not using Outlook 2011....just trying to use the Mail client's (alleged) Exchange support...like I do on my iPad2 and iPhone. I get the infamous '443 port' error, like others have cited.....unless something is wrong with the Lion install, I don't know what I would delete locally that might help. I do not have admin access to our company's email Exchange 2007 server....

Thanks in advance for any new info you can suggest....

I've got the same issue - new MBA with a transferred account that was upgraded to Lion 10.7.1. I took a look in the console and saw these "interesting" messages when I try to create and sync the exchange account. Is anyone else getting these? are they a clue?

The reply i sent you wasn't meant to be for you to ring the man and ask him for a free resolution!!! It was meant to be and may be I shouldve made this clear. If you would like it fixed this man can do it, but it will have to pay him for this service. It was quite insulting that you thought you could ring this man and ask him to fix your IT problem for free, please do not ring him again unless you are prepared to pay for his service which was first class and worth every penny.

Hmmm...seems I struck a raw nerve here...apologies. Perhaps I was not clear. I called to ask for help, was willing to pay, but the 'filtering' individual who answered declined to provide details on ANY case opened by someone else. He offered to take my credit card first (which I **HAVE** done with Microsoft many, many times...and, agree that they provide good service for the money, for what that's worth), then connect me with a paid consultant. Fair enough...but, he also offered to direct me to several blogs first (including this one), before I took that step. I'm somewhat skeptical that MS can fix this, since I've been an IT Manager for many years, have been an Exchange administrator for many of those years, and already know that the earlier suggestions in this thread and others have already been tried by our Corporate Exchange Admin, to no avail. I was then hoping that you might offer some additional details , but perhaps it's OK.... I'll keep looking elsewhere for help, if I've offended you.

We had the same problem here...We finally got it to work today. We had to call and pay for the microsoft support service, but the issue was on the server end. We had to go into the iis manager... went to sites... went to default website...and changed the SSL settings for Auto Discover, EWS Exadmin, echange, exchweb, owa... and the rest of them down the line...

Change the settings to ignore client certificates.

Problem solved. Can finally send and receive.
