Is it me, or are there major issues with iTunes update 10.4.0.80?

Is it me, or are there major issues with iTunes update 10.4.0.80? I cannot get it to connect to the iTunes store, nor will it back-up my iPhone. I also cannot paste album art. I see a lot of posts referring to the same issues, but no official replies from Apple. It's as if they are acting as if there is nothing wrong.

I agree with this post. You can't say that everyone else is happily enjoying this new 10.4 experience on the basis that only 21 have exposed some of the many problems that exist with it. I would venture to say that "most" people don't know that this forum exists as an opportunity for them to find answers to their problems. Not that they would get ANYTHING in the way of an expression of a possible mistake from Apple.

I fully expect 10.4.1 to come out VERY shortly. However, I'm not sure that it will be much of an improvement since Apple has blatantly shown their aim toward maximizing profits at the expense of usability.

BRING BACK BACKUP TO DISK!!!!!!!!

Here's the thing,

Ive tried reinstalling with safari, without safari, ive tried reinstalling the last version, Ive uninstalled itunes, quickplayer and anything to do with apple rebooted and nothing happens, tried uninstalling everything without rebooting and nothing happens. I dont run safari on Win7.

And when i do manage to get into the itunes store and a miracle does happen i get a bunch of blue lines and thats it.

What i have noticed is those people who are running Win7 64 bit are not having issues... Is it an issue with Win7 32 bit? Just wondering thats all....

Same problem here. I run Windows 7 home version on a netbook. It's been working fine until the upgrade of iTunes to 10.4.0.80

The pop up says:

"iTunes could not back up th iPhone "John's iPhone" because the backup could not be saved on the computer"

I have loads of space on my hard drive. Just trying to sync my iPhone Contacts with Outlook gives me the same message.

I'm thinking of reinstalling iTunes but I need to back up all my iTunes data (photos, musice and, in particlular, all my apps - especially those I have purchased).

How do I go about this since I have read conflicting instructions and reports in this website.

Thanks - John

I am also having major problems since updating to 10.4, and am getting really annoyed! I am running windows xp sp2, with a ipod touch 2nd gen. When I try to sync, it stalls during the back up. Itunes store no longer works. I have even tried to reinstall itunes, restart the computer several times, disabled my spyware & virus firewalls, removed safari, and nothing seems to help. If there is a problem, I wish Apple would at least send some type of communiciation and advise when the problem will be fixed. I sent a message to Apple support this morning, and so far no response. I really regret updating, as everything was working with the previous version.

Dito with all of the above - I have been trying to sort this out since updating.

Tried everything - firewall , router , re-install, errors caused me to wipe my ipad but has a backup so just games data lost 😟

istore not working on my laptop or Win 7 PC ( and is 32bit ) -

Biggest issue is not being able to sync iphone / ipad. What is the point of buying stuff ????

Ipad and iphone can access store in their own ways fine but that doesn't help much.

Please - please - please fix soon Apple 🙂

I had the problem that after upgrading to iTunes 10.8, I could not access the iTunes store and could not sync my iPod and iPhone. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. I uninstalled and re-installed all componets a number of times with no effect. After ringing Apple support, they told me I had to remove components in a certain order. The link to the instructions is below:

I also defragged my hard disc before attempting a re-install. After I did that, at last I had iTunes working properly again. Hope this helps somewhere out there. I spent a least 6-7 hours of my weekend trying to fix the problem. It is a relief to have everything work properly again.
