Restore bounce to Mail in Lion

Thank you. This worked perfectly, and I added the
"delete eachmessage"
command the the new service as well.

My spamfilters and junk filters work pretty well, but the well-intentioned (older) friends who keep sending me garbage and messages that have been forwarded 10 times already are now going to get bounced every time. Thanks for making my day.

Thanks a ton! Regardless of the dispute about bouncing mail, I liked "Bounce" and I don't need anyone to tell me what I like or want. This Automator workflow worked like a charm and I love having the "Bounce" option back! Thanks again.

Were you able to resolve the issue with the messages re-appearing after your delete?

No. It still happens.

I did not have any trouble with the message re-appearing, but, I only tested two messages. I will let you know if I have any issues with the script.

I am still having problems with the deleted messages re-appearing after restarting mail.

If I then manually delete them and empty the trash, they stay deleted.

I did alter the script a bit to mark the message as junk prior to bouncing. Other than that everything matches CHarrison's script with the delete.

I don't see why the addition would make the message reappear, but here is is in case anyone has any suggestions.

on run {input, parameters}

tell application "Mail"

repeat with eachMessage in input

set junk mail status of eachMessage to true

bounce eachMessage

delete eachMessage

end repeat

end tell

end run

It seem that it only happens with my imap accounts, not my pop accounts.

I changed the line

delete eachMessge to move eachMessage to mailbox "Trash"

and after some initial testing that seems to have done the trick.
