How do I get mouse zoom to work in Lion?

After upgrading to Lion, the CTRL-Scroll doesn't work, even though it appears to be enabled in the "System Preferences".

Here is what I have enabled, in the Mouse settings:

And in the Universal Access settings:

I've tried enabling, disabling, etc. Nothing seems to work. When I turn on "Zoom in Window" in the Universal Access settings, the zoom works, but only in a little window. I'd like to zoom the entire screen like in Snow Leopard..

Any suggestions?

I am having this problem, as well as another. I have the option set to move the screen when the mouse moves to the edge of the screen. Sometimes the zoom works, but then the screen doesn't move when the cursor reaches the edge- the cursor is confined to the zoomed area.

Please fix this bug. I am using a late 2009 iMac i7 27", and the screen is very large. The combination of the magic mouse and the zoom feature has helped me completely utilize this humongous screen, but when the zoom doesn't work it has definitely become a hassle.

I just started having this problem tonight although I upgraded to Lion months ago. I use screen zoome every day/night to navigate while in bed, I always use Control+Scroll but it decided to screw itself tonight, I tried changing all the options etc and I managed to screen zoom, but it wouldn't move with the mouse and it wouldn't even move when the cursor got to the edge when I changed it to that. Also, trying to to go screensaver via hot corners didn't work either, I had to restart. Another little problem I have with Lion is, when you restart and ask it to relaunch your stuff, it does it all one one space, I would like it to put them all back to the right spaces.

RE: Spaces

In Mission Control Preference deselect "Automatically rearrange spaces based on most recent use."

After doing that I found Apps returned to the spaces I had assigned them to previous to Lion.

If an app is in the wrong space invoke Mission Control, F8 etc, and drag the app to the appropriate space.

Leave the app launched at shut down and it should relaunch in that spce after a restart.

As for ZOOM, it is inconsistant at best, non-functional at worst. My best guess is it is memeory related but I can't prove that. It also conflicts with some of the iPhone/iPad two finger tap, two finger squeeze jeastures, which only work in Safari.

Deselectiong those in the Trackpad preferences resolves the issue somewhat but not permanently.

⌘+ will enlarge text in all apps, ⌘0 resets text to "original."

⌃two finger scroll can be used to enlarge or shrink text.

Thanks Gordon!

I'm glad you told me about that Mission Control option, I was getting sick of them randomly re ordering them.

Another bug I have noticed with screen zoom is, when you go into launchpad or mission control the screen zoom refuses to move, you have to exit and then zoom out then reopen whichever to be able to see everything. Who do we push these bugs to to get fixed?
